Cool story bro, you have obviously never seen a warzone. Even in London last year society effectively fell apart in small pockets and that was for no reason whatsoever and while none of the civil services were under any undue strain. You honestly think they will be able to better keep the peace when dealing with a major crisis as well?

Also, now this might be a minor point to you, but the Dark Ages followed the fall of Rome and much of the science and knowledge that had been amassed was also lost to the majority of the people. How many aqueducts were built in the dark ages, how many new roads? Rome the place is still there of course but everything Rome stood for was destroyed and the infrastructure it supported and that was supported by it also vanished.


You only argument and example are both fundamentally flawed.
