You've dug a pit trap near your encampment it is well concealed and in a natural choke point, it is 12' L, 6' W & 8' D . Several days have passed and you go to check it. You have caught 5 zombies and must make a decision.

Keep them for observation. If there's a male and female, leave them alone and see if they'll mate. If they do, you can grow your own zombie empire.

Ideally my pit trap will also serve as a place to cremate them so i don't have to pull the corpses out. Crossbow from safety and stack them up with some logs and set them on fire. They might attract more so it's really too dangerous to leave them alive there. Maybe if this pit is well away from my base of operations I might not bother with them at all but by the sounds of it this is right outside my front door.

I'd be tempted to burn them, but I don't think it's a decision I could make without taking a few other things into consideration. Knowing my trap worked, however, there's a strong chance I'd use an available crossbow to quietly eliminate each zombie, before removing the corpses to maintain the trap's functionality.
