I am an old Grandpa.
My attitudes were forged in the turmoil of the 60s.
Misogynist huh?
Big word for a small brain.
Prefacing it with the word "sweet" does not change it's meaning or make it less an insult.
Does not know any better?
I AM an ALPHA male what are you?
You seem all sensitive and caring with this post are you a Metrosexual?

Well, you're old enough to be my dad, but not my grandpa (just sayin).. but then again I'm no spring chicken at 31 either.
Brain size doesn't necessarily correlate with intelligence level. ;-)
I looked up "alpha male" on Wikipedia, because I assume you're not being rhetorical.. I don't think I'm an "alpha male." I looked up "metrosexual," and I'm not one of those, either. I think I'm just this guy, you know? I don't think I'm overly sensitive at all, and definitely not quick to be offended (I wasn't).
When you say something like "before you know it, women will be writing zombie novels!" I can't help but think "before you know it, women will be driving cars and voting!" It does have the air of misogyny about it.
Oh, I did want to say that the market does seem to have become saturated with bad storytelling, exactly because of the reason you stated. It's the same with movies; they're easier to make now and be seen by the public, but that also means there's a lot more shit you have to wade through to get to the good stuff.

I haven't read any of their works but like I said, I don't read many zombie novels, period. But just goes to show that women have been writing zombie novels for a while now.

True enough, you are about the age of my oldest child.
As for brain size not necessarily incorrect, a Doberman is smarter than a Great Dane (as a rule).
That was not the point though.
As for Alpha I have been in several coalitions some natural and some uneasy.
I do not make a good beta.
As for the female writers I prefer books written by a man from a mans point of view.
I also do not read books with a female hero / main character, ie. David Weber and the Honor Harrington series.
I have read and enjoyed other books by him but have read none of the Honor series.
Andre Norton is an example of a female writer that can pull it off though.
As you should know her early works were written under the pen name of Andrew North.
I think my point is that while I can enjoy a book written by a woman I typically find them a bit off for lack of a better way to describe it.
I recently read Mira Grants the first two books in her newsflesh trilogy the third not being out yet.
She spun a good yarn that kept me interested and it was written from by a woman telling a story as a woman.
She was not trying to be something she is not.
If you have not read them you should, they are well worth the time.
As for metrosexual, do you match your shoes to your pants?
Would you wear stripes with plaid?
Do you notice how a room is decorated?
In truth I am no more a misogynist than I am a racist, there is not much point in trying to read between the lines with me.
Typically there is no between the lines, I tend to say what I think and am generally pretty plain about it.
GACK!
I must need some sleep this almost sounds like I am agreeing with you on some things. LOL

No, I only have two pairs of shoes, a pair of Doc Martens, which are my everyday use-for-everything boots, and a pair of tall kickass leather boots with flames on them that I've had for like eight years now.
Stripes with plaid? No, lol. I don't want to cause anyone a seizure. Especially the ladies. If I were married I might not care so much.
Not unless the room has cool decorations on the wall or something.
