A team of suburban gun guys who do extremely well until ammunition starts to run low.
They start out with a seemingly large amount of ammunition but burn through a huge portion of it dealing with a urban gang moving through their area.
They win the encounter mainly due to position and preparedness.
In one scene there are several bad guys hiding behind a disabled car, on of the good guys skates several rounds of buckshot under the car hitting everyone not behind a tire with at least a couple of pellets.
The sniper on the roof takes a toll on them too.
Molotov cocktails have little effect on a Bell South substation building with no windows, the entire building is brick with metal doors behind a chain link fence.
The gang finally loses it's leader to the sniper and they move on to easier prey.
The real problem is the herd of undead attracted by the noise.
The guys make the mistake of trying to eliminate the herd instead of laying low and letting them wander off.
The continued noise attracts even more finally they stop shooting and try to wait it out.
Problem now is the moaning from the herd is loud enough to keep them coming.
They solve the problem with a couple of boom boxes with fresh batteries.
One of them manages to get out of the compound and through the undead to plant a boom box on the edge of a rooftop to attract the zed.
After doing this a couple of times the main body has moved miles away but there are still more in the area than there were before and ammunition is low.
As the ammunition begins to run low they start using other types of weapons and begin to suffer losses as they go on supply forays.
They realize that their position is compromised and they must move on.
Tension develops as they argue over whether or not to leave and where to go when they do.
The team in beginning to split into two camps.

Should I continue?

...Yes please. What would one do to prevent that? What group would you go with? are you screwed or not? I'm not sure I understand.

Another installment

Every day there seem to be a few more of the dead wandering around.
Even though the large group was drawn off they keep coming.
It’s like the ones coming from further away or moving slower are just getting there.
The barricade of disabled vehicles prevents them from pushing the fence down but everyone agrees that if they don’t move soon the dead will be too thick to escape through.
They know that trying to thin the herd will make things worse just like it did last time.
If not for the boom boxes and the dirt bike they brought with them they would be surrounded with no hope of escape by now.

The plan had been for the rider to exit through a small back gate used by a maintenance crew to access a drainage ditch.
He was supposed to slip out the gate with three battery powered stereos strapped to his bike.
They were set to play for 30 minutes then sleep for thirty minutes in a constant cycle until the battery died.

It was expected he would ride a short distance the sound of the exhaust on the bike starting the movement of the Zed.
It was hoped he could draw them a couple of miles before having to plant the first stereo not starting the second until the battery was exhausted on the first and so on.
There was an escape route planned that should have gotten him around them to return.
After two weeks no one believed he was going to return, not alive anyway.

The group was splintering into those who wanted to try to wait out the movement of the Zed and those who believed they would never stop coming.
Roughly a third oddly enough mostly comprised of survivors who joined the group after the ZPAW began wanted to continue to lay low and wait it out.
Their leader a loud mouthed woman constantly tried to berate everyone into agreeing with her.

Those wanting to leave believed the sounds made by the Zed them-selves attracted more.
Things falling and breaking occasionally punctuated the shuffling and groaning sounds, every little noise out of place in a silent world.
They believed these sounds traveled creating a chain of undead.
While they were not the end point any longer every day they saw new undead milling round.
Some seemed to pass by as though determined to reach some unknown destination and some seemed to get lost and wander aimlessly.

Want more or should I stop now?

Seems like they have no option but to attempt a breakout or sneak out. If they need to go out foraging for supplies they're not self-sufficient, so waiting out Zed is not really an option. Maybe a small team could get some large, heavy vehicles and just try to load everyone who wants to go and plow through the zeds, while another team recons the area for a route clear of obstructions to the vehicles.

There should have been no shortage of fuel or vehicles.
There should have been plenty of food and water.
The problem was the loud mouthed bitch and her companions the group took in.
There was no need to take in the group other than soft hearts.
The old guy with the biker mustache kept pointing that all their problems were caused by them.

One of the guys from that group of leaches fired on the gang who might have moved on by after all the building they were in did not look interesting in the least from the front.
The very fact it was inconspicuous was one of the reasons for it's selection.
The leaches had run through an inordinate amount of food causing the shortage.

There is a secure parking area in the back of the building where the vehicles are stored.
The problem with vehicles is there is not enough for the original group and the leaches.
The loudmouth woman was pushing to stay but if they did go then she wanted gear and supplies to be left in order to make room for her fat ass.

As you can see by now all I really have is an outline there is more if anyone wants it.

Doesn't seem there's any real alternative to leaving the leaches behind then.

Edited: Remembered the rules about living people.

Yes, rules are rules.
There is a segment that involves the guy with the biker mustache and the bitch.
I will not be posting it, she does not get shot but a point is made at the expense of one of her party.

Wow
Hard to believe I started this thread five years ago.
A computer crash lost the original outline this is all that is left.
If there was any interest I might try to recreate it here.
Sadly all the forums are almost stagnant.
Everywhere I go it's the same.
Too bad we can't all join together and pool our few remaining users.
