And anyway, I emphatically ask again, what the heck is a large rock doing in front of a downtown department store ... ?!?!?

I guess the same exact thing a group of flesh eating zombies were doing. Conveniently existing for the sake of plot.

You're questioning why we suspend belief that a fist sized rock is available to bash in a department store door, yet not acknowledging that what's picking up this rock is a rotten flesh eating zombie.

It's like having an elephant wearing a leather jacket ride a tricycle into outer space, smoking a cigarette and your only problem with the scene is how an elephant could ever work a lighter.

I was waiting for ages for this show to be released.

This show is a SH*T.

How f*cking hard is it to make something good for Zombie lovers?

I enjoyed "Zombieland" more than any Zombie movie I've seen but even that could have been made better. F*ck I want to watch some interesting Zombie movie that doesn't have a sh*tty ending.

I want to see an elite group of guys, guns, LOTS of cool guns, grenades, bite-proof clothing, custom made forts (full decked out with everything you could ever want), cool cars that get modified, hot chicks (that aren't pussies), civilian run training camps, recruiting people, finding some remote island to rebuild a new society, cool luxurious boats, whole trucks filled with beer, breaking into police evidence rooms and stealing the drugs, several mini-guns, keeping a zombie as a pet and get it stoned on whatever drugs.

I know, Im a f*cked up individual.

Just my personal opinion, The Walking Dead has no problems, love the show. I will take fast running zombies, shamblers, ones that say "BRAAIINNNSSS" or "Send more paramedics, ones with red eyes, and vomit blood, ones that can smell you, see you, or just feel your there its all good just as long as they dont sparkle in the sunlight they are all good.

Too much drama, not enough guns, unrealistic. This show is for American house wives.

I'm so angry.

Zombies can't get stoned as they are dead although that would be funny to see.

Didn't work out so well for the elite group of guys in Day of the Dead or 28 Days Later... or Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

Never does.. too much anarchy in the world. Folks want to go their own way and do their own thing and plus a lot of these type of guy who end up running these type of deals don't work well with others as a general rule.

How old are you? 12? And did you even read the comic?
First you type an amazingly stupid list of how this serie should be and then you call the actual series unrealistic.

I'm not a forum member for a very long time, but this has to be the dumbest post in ages.

I have no issues with any of the 'rules' portrayed in TWD. There is no standard, and have been great productions made in the genre with slow movers, fast movers, those using tools ect..ect..

I even enjoyed the 'herd' scene. Yes i admit that as they were passing the cars I couldn't help but think "why don't the walkers smell them??" after all that was a focal point of one episode in season one, but it didn't detract from this episode IMO, it was still a great scene. I do have a bit of issue with the long diatribes of dialog in the 2nd episode of season 2. However, I can't help but think it's leading up to some serious action to come. Like I said before though, still the best show on t.v. and it's about time a series like this was made.

well episode 3 has come and gone and my opinions on the season are not changing ...

not only are the little things bugging me like where are they getting white bread for rick's sandwich in episode 3 or of the giant glass of orange juice in episode 2 ... or how they have electricity at the farm when I'm clearly not hearing generators in the background ... or why do you waste electricity with porch lights at night which would only draw zombies anyway ...

but the big things like rick and his wife agonizing over the 1 in a 1,000,000 shooting of their kid in the forest ... I'm sorry I just don't care ... I guess the point is stuff like this happens in a zombie apocalypse too ... but I really feel the real reason for this is because the producers are being cheap and it's a lot less expensive to show a child actor thrashing in bed ...

and then why did otis really need to be sacrificed for them to get away ? it looked like they were in the clear actually ... and really didn't they realize that someone morbidly obese was going to have trouble getting around a high school prowling with zombies? ( and anyway how much weight has he NOT lost since the collapse of civilization ... you think his clothes would be falling off of him by now)

why were there still valuable supplies left at the high school? you'd think it would have been picked clean by now ... and if time was of the essence and all they needed was that respirator thingy why did they load up on everything else and jeopardize the mission and their own lives?

it just seems like all of these stupid choices conveniently serve to push the story forward ... too many things make no sense and it breaks the spell ... not to mention the commercials which also serve to do the same thing ... and while I previously praise the weekly format for allowing more depth, the commercial breaks every 7 minutes or so really serve to stop the flow and create disbelief ...

oh yeah and way way too many monologues and soliloquies still ... why the hell are people so eloquent after everything goes to shit l o l?

White bread- can be baked or frozen
Orange juice- squeezed, or from frozen concentrate
Power- could be nuclear, or on a grid still in operation, the generator could be muffled in a building away from the house, plenty of possibilities. Leaving the porch light on may not be so crazy since there's 2 groups one still on the hi way who could turn up. Not to mention the chance of the little girl lost who could potentially see it. The farm is fenced off and the entrance gated as T-Dog and Glen were asked if they closed the gate behind them.

People are shot in hunting accidents all the time, nothing 1 in a million about that. Chances would likely increase during an outbreak IMO ( as more people, and more inexperienced people hunt for fresh meat). And it lead to the excursion for the supplies, I doubt they saved much money, take the shooting away and you still have to fill it with something, it can't all be action packed. (though as I said episode 2 lacked abnormally in that department, 3 was fine IMO)

Otis volunteered to go with Shane out of guilt, he wasn't sent. Otis ended up being bait for Shane, with his leg hurt he was loosing ground to the walkers and had almost given up at the point where he was by the chain link fence until Otis came along, sure he may not have needed to shoot him, not knowing if he did or didn't is part of the hook.

The medical trailer at the high school came after the outbreak had been well on course, guarded by military until they were over run, not really a stretch that there would still be supplies in it. After all it was a CDC trailer not part of the high school.

Why not load up on everything else including the respirator while you're in there, not like you'd want to be coming back?

I think the show has explained away some of the glaring questions, like why is the house not boarded up (the property is fenced off) I don't think they would have the time (nor would I want them to) to explain every last detail down to a glass of OJ, when it's not outside of the realm of possibility, they have power they have the ability to freeze things so explaining away bread and a glass of orange juice would be redundant.

You're certainly free to hate it, but the issues you brought up can be explained away without stretching things really at all. Certainly not breaching absurdity like so many other works in the genre and other series do this day and age.

When we sold our farm land in Iowa a few years ago, the first thing the new owner did was have a number of windmills installed on his land. And a number of farmers have systems in place where livestock waste not only generates enough electricity for the farm, but also allows them to sell power back to the grid -- but I didn't see much livestock on the farm. Given what we've seen, livestock might actually be a liability, by attracting zeds.

But I will agree about the lights at night. You certainly wouldn't want to attract a herd of zombies that were heading down the highway. That was quite a group that descended on the quarry camp in the middle of the night in season 1.

But I still say they need to get some remote control devices that can distract the zombies away from building exit and entry points.

I thought it would've been better if they were slower and there were more "random" encounters. Running into wanderers would have been more realistic.

The show has problems no doubt about it but it is better than nothing.I mean whats the alternative?
More ghost hunters?Wrestling on SciFi channel for Gods sake?
It really needs Bob and VJ on staff then it would rock! They keep coming close and fading back into blandness.
Oh well its better than 99% of the garbage on tv.
Let me tell you a trick for enjoying tv and movies. You have to not look for any reality.
As a gun guy action movies used to kill me till I learned to ignore 10 shot revolvers, standard mag shotguns that hold 15 rounds, y'all get the idea.
I have wondered what would happen to them if they encountered my team in the ZPAW.It would probably go better them if I was still alive, VJ is not the sweetheart of a guy Bob is.
They would think they had encountered the Borg, Assimilate or perish...

"Imagine"? "nothing to kill or die for"? Having nothing worth dying for, or killing for, is having nothing worth living for.

The issue I have with this season is the soap operaness of the pacing. The good parts are the parts with those pesky dead things in the scenes. I don't need to be reminded over and over how lori is a c, rick is nothing like the comics and shane is a dbag.

at least andrea is starting to turn into the character in the book...
I write teh horror books and comics.

I think that to many people expect the pacing of a 2 hour movie....totally unrealistic expectation IMO.

Great episode last night!!

Great episode?
Can we say overloaded on character interaction?
Transparent plot.
Who did not know they were going to clear the barn.

They need to get back on the road.
The show is getting stuck in the mud at the farm just like the zombies in the mire.

It had a couple of moments but the previous episode was better.
