I haven't seen Children.... but it's been on my list to get for a long time but i was watching Grindhouse Trailer Classics last night & the trailer for Children.. was on it. It struck me as being cheaper made than a lot of the other trailers on the movie & it just didn't hook me in. I am a little disappointed cause on paper i really like the sound of the movie but after seeing the trailer I'm now not that bothered. Is it still worth a look? Is there something there that I'm not seeing from the trailer? What do guys think of it?

It's actually one of my favorite drive-in flicks. Creepy, atmospheric, some over the top acting, fantastic zombie make up and outrageous costumes make this one well worth checking out.

The film is very slow though, takes a good hour before we see any zombie action, but once it kicks into gear - it's well worth the wait.

Very slow is an understatement. I fell asleep before the good part kicked in. Hopefully, the remake with be better.

It doesn't sound like a total dud, so i'll get to it but there is probably better to get to first. Cheers guys.

I enjoy the film. I have 2 dvds of it. One is an older dvd and the other is the newer release of it from like 2 years ago. The zombies don't start happening though til like 45 minutes into the film.

It isn't a total dud, but there is room for improvement. The fact that they're doing a remake should say something for it.

Be prepared for very odd and quirky characters. But it is a fun movie with great atmosphere. Better than most of the new trend of **** zombie films.

Yeah, that was definitely a WTF moment. They seemed so mindless until then. I would've preferred they walked underwater.

I hated most of the acting (specially the douchebag director) but I found the zombies very creepy

Aw come on Kemper. :ohwell:

What about those clothes they were wearing?

I thought that provided plenty of entertainment. :rotfl:

I watched this movie once probably 10 years ago, and don't remember much of it. So, I tried to watch it recently and couldn't sit through it long enough to get to the good parts. I too couldn't stand the stupid director guy. I might have to try watching it again while drinking and see if I can make it through it. Weird, because I can sit through almost any crappy zombie movie (Oasis of the Zombies, Hell of the Living Dead, Sugar Hill, Alien Dead etc. just to name a few) and even somewhat enjoy them.

The clothes were nice, but like Josh said...annoying. I think the fat guy should have been in a wheel chair and called the yellow shirt girl Sally

FYI...

Do you know that the guy wearing the orange shirt with the ridiculous striped pants, standing all the way to the left (Alan), was married to the chick with the yellow shirt?

btw, you lost me... What did you mean by that quote you made?

Wow, talk about serendepity.
I just started watching this as part of the Midnite Mausoleum Season 2 Vol2 DVD, which I picked up at a Monstercon. I probably wouldn't have bought it, but Marlena was just so very damn cute.

I've only watched the first hour, right up the first zombie's hand twitching.
Thus far, it's utterly terrible. Slooww. Crappy lighting. Some of the acting is good, a lot of it is awful.
I'm not sure what's harder to believe, that the dead could be spelled back to life (and it's pronounced "Grim-more", not "Grim-moray", idjit), or that no one in that troupe has punched out that arrogant jerk of a troupe leader yet. And lordy, what's with those striped polyester pants?? I'm still blind!
I'll try to watch the rest today.

Now she was pretty hot..and it looked like she was gonna poke right through that shirt! I honestly think she's the only reason I watched as far as i did.
