Sounds like you dished it out before.

There was a time I'd only hit on sad looking men with dogs.

Though I did have standards the dog must not be small enough to fit into a handbag and the story must at least have a body count.

Whichever I could get to first, or I thought I had the better chance of saving successfully.

I have neither thankfully. For what it's worth, the child. That's what she'd want. That's what I'd want if the roles were switched. At the very least I wouldn't have to live with the memory of what I had to do.

Well, some of us are a whole lot older than that. I think Bob might have actually fought in the civil war

Well I've dated two men I met in the park, one asked me out when I was running the other I met during a concert in the park, though only one had a dog.
Maybe meeting someone in the park souunds less embrassing than "I met him at a bar after I fell on him as I was really drunk."

Though the sob story seems to work, I have a few male friends that use one on a night out to pull. I would complain about it if I wasn't so impressed by how well it work.

A couple factors to consider would be the age of the child and the distance of both of them relative to you. With all things being equal, the default would likely be the child (maybe under 16.) Older children would about make them an adult so it becomes a little more of a toss up then.

I'd like to think that my wife would sooner be the one to save the kid before I even got there. Then save me for good measure, all while still looking pretty and smelling nice. She's kinda scary that way.

Always give up the cat first save the dog for later and leave the step children for a distraction!! hahaha jk I personally would save my child first because I would be the wife in the situation and hope that my husband would be able to defend for himself. Women can fight men just have to figure out how to introduce it to use without boring the hell out of us.
Now if you tell your wife you want to teach her how to fight off an attacker or zombies or whatever then just let her know that theres a good chance youl let her kick you in the gonads and i'm sure she will be ready to learn in a second haha
