Hang on a sec! I'm certain you've talked about how much you like Dead Set, Dawn04 and The Horde.

Wassup wit dat?

Those were good movies but not because they had sprinters in them. Sprinters take away any real hope of survival, they will catch you, eventually. Making a head shot is hard enough, hitting a running target is near impossible to do more than a few times before they are on you...I like stories where if the survivors do the right things, get a couple of breaks, they will survive. Sprinter stories lack that...

In a movie like 28 Days where they were alive it's easier. If it gets hairy you can just spray the crowd to slow them down, they'll bleed out and die. You get away, save the girl, and live happily ever after. Or you can wait it out a few weeks till they all STARVE. Posted Image

Did I mention that dead things just shouldn't move around like Olympic athletes? Posted Image

I actually like Zombieland, and without that movie I do not think we would have seen another resurgence of the zombie genre. The film may not have been as pure to the art form, but I feel it was open to a more general audience. I think the genre needed a commercial success to keep going. Otherwise we might have been subject to The Dark Ages of the 1990s again.

I welcome the zombie subgenre to go into another dark age again. There are too many people making them now and many for the wrong reasons. And zombie films were already very popular again without Zombieland.
Plus many are not putting forth any real effort into the zombie themselves. Lets just put blood around their mouths have them run around, that's good enough for zombie fans right? No it's not.
But if people enjoy this movie, that's cool.I enjoyed it in the theater.

I like when the odds of survival drop. Makes things more exciting. I like the monsters snapping ferociously at their heels. I also don't think movies always need to have a happy ending or have everyone always survive.

Dead things don't shamble around either. They don't do anything at all. But realism was never a major concern for me. I just really dig the buzz I get from these highly infectious, hideous looking former people charging at their victims with the intention of biting their faces off.

It's a horror movie. Things should look bleak as hell. Sometimes doing the right thing doesn't always work out, but hopefully one or more will squeak by in the end.

I don't have a problem with sprinting zombies, especially in the beginning when their muscles haven't broken down yet.

Though dead things aren't suppose to move, that is the only suspension of belief the audience is supposed to have for the movie. Everything else should be realistic.
