Oh yeah, in the preview and clip they showed for the next episode, there is a shoot out between the opposing group and our three characters.
I'm really surprised howa many people say "where's all the zombies?!" Just shooting zombies is the stuff b-movies and action flicks are made of, not engrossing dramas. Everyone knows TWD is about the people surviving, not zombies, yet they keep complaining about the lack of zombies. I mean, you can't have arbitrary zombie appearances every episode or it would seem cheap and gratuitous; not fitting with the story.
Dave Navarro said on The Talking Dead, "I don't complain this much about stuff I care about," talking about the lack of zombies and how the entire episode of Talking Dead it seemed all he did was point out things that are wrong with it. And he did. He represented what seems to be the majority of fanboys that also just point out bad aspects of the show. I don't understand this, and havent encountered it with other shows I love. What gives? Stop complaining so much. Try to look at the good things about it for a minute before firing off on message boards time after time.

He did complain a lot. I agree with you 100%. I know a couple of guys at work who like to point out all the flaws. Enjoy it for what it is. It is a really great show. It's not all the time we get great zombie shows/movies.

It sort of seems to me like a lot of people expected Dawn of the Dead (new) stretched out for multiple seasons. I for one really enjoy the character building and I am glad it's running this way. Hopefully it stays on for a very long time.

I think Rick and Shane are going to get into it the next couple of shows. Probilly knuckle action, rather than gunplay. I dont see how can they kill off Shane's character in the show. It is the most interesting character in the show along side of Daryl's. If Jon Bernthal (Shane) leaves the show I dont see it going anywhere, and will probilly die in season 3.
Im getting tired of Hersel's "Get off my land" bit. Like when his ancestors got the land after they moved off the indians its Manifest Desitiny now. Land rights no longer apply.
Just as you think Rick finally screws on his headgear right, he does something stupid like save that punk who minutes before was trying to kill you. What do you think would of happened to Lori, Carl, and everyone else if that gang of raiders found the farm house? Were yoiu screaming at the TV to leave the punk for the walkers, or shoot the POS? Yes patch him up, and drop him off somewhere so he can lead others to the farmhouse. Shane is right as allways, Rick is NOT a good leader.
Andrea is hot !!!
Lori's scene around the wreak was good, at least they had more walker action this episode.
One thing that bugs me about Lori's character, does she think that she is the queen around the camp, That she doesnt have to get her hands dirty from digging graves or taking the walkers out to the field to burn. Poor T-dog and Andrea, got to do all the dirty work. I will say the severed arm scene with Andrea is one of my highlights of the season, along with the water well zombie comming apart. Give me more gore!!
They need to use Norman Reedus (Daryl) character better. He is a great actor (Boondock Saints) that angry, your not my monm bit with Sophie's mom is getting old.
One of my main complaints of the show is what happen to that black guy, and his kid from the first episofe of season one? Im still hoping they will show up.
Yep next weeks episode looks very good.
Is anyone watching that Comic Book Guys show after TWD? What do you think of it? Im a huge Kevin Smith fan, saw him a few times at Comic Con in San Diego.

I strongly disagree with Shane being the best character on the show, I think he is the biggest douche on the show.

I couldn't agree with you more. I've seen comments from a lot of haters on the AMC message board (and have responded to a fair share). Haters always want to complain that TWD moves too slow or is too much like a soap opera. The excellent building of the characters and the plot lines makes the great action scenes pay off that much more. If the haters just want zombie killing action with little or no dialog, their time would be better spent playing one of the Resident Evil games (or watching a movie from that franchise) TWD would not be as popular as it is if the writers refused to flesh out the characters and the story!

What? No he's not. He pretty much blew her off after he got back to the farm. He froze because he doesn't know how to feel about her being in love with him; a girl's never felt that way towards him before. It has nothing to do him being "p-whipped" or having "hair on your sack," he's dealing with new feelings that are difficult for anyone to deal with, let alone in a fucking zombie apocalypse. Maybe you've got issues with females yourself that you're projecting onto him, because that comment was waaaaay off the mark man.
Quote
You hit it on the head, they do exactly that in the next episode as the preview showed (fisticuffs!)
They can kill him off easily, as the audience pretty much hates him. He just creates all this friction within the group. The audience wouldn't mind seeing him killed in some grotesque manner, a la Capt. Rhodes in Day of the Dead. Luckily for us, I highly, highly doubt your prediction about the show quitting after a third season if they kill of Shane is likely, and is completely unfounded.
Quote
He's one of the few that do have his head on right. He's always level-headed and tries to think rationally. Although Shane's intentions are good, he keeps going off and isn't stable. Rick is the epitome of a good leader, I think. He makes all these hard decisions, none of which are clear, listens to advice, and is always getting his hands dirty. Shane never listens to anybody, he just yells and screams like he's throwing a temper tantrum. Oh, and threatens other members of the group with murder. Andrea was right in telling him he needs to have more tact and work on the delivery of his ideas.
He saved the kid because he was just a kid, doing exactly what any one of them would have done if they were caught in that situation. He's not a bad person, he was just trying to survive like everyone else. We'll see what happens with the kid.. but I don't think he can lead any of the rest of his group to the farm. Personally I wouldn't mind him joining the group, as he'll probably be better off with them than that creepy douche from True Blood he was with.
Quote
Sigh. It seems you equate walker action with how good the show is. I hope not, because that's ridiculous.
Quote
I loved that scene, and the scene in the wrecked car when Lori is trying to scramble away from the very, very determined zombie. I love those tight, claustrophobic scenes where people are kinda trapped (under the tank, under the cars, in the well, in the wrecked car) with a zombie chomping at the bit to eat them alive. Damn that's scary stuff. I wouldn't mind more gore, but only if it's congruent with the story, and not gore-for-gore's sake. Like I said before, that the stuff of b-movies. It has to be fitting. And perhaps that's something the writers can push toward more, figuring out how to properly work in more blood within the story they already generally have.
Quote
They've only just touched on it, and you already think it's getting old?
Sounds like you didn't like that episode at all. Which is strange, because I fucking loved it! It had more zombies and action, for all you people that were always complaining about the lack of zombies, and we saw what can happen when we meet with another group of travelers whose morals (or lack thereof) and actions are more along those of Shane's. It took place at night, which is always nice, and the wreck scene was eeerie. Rick if finally starting to get an inkling of just how dangerous Shane can be to the group, and I'm very interested to see if Andrea keeps defending Shane and where that's going to lead (they touched on that a little). The group dynamics are just fascinating.

I am, I'm DVRing it now. :-) I like it, it's funny enough. I wouldn't mind it being cut down to a half-hour show but no big deal. I do like those kind of shows though, like Pawn Stars, American Pickers, and Oddities, and I like Keven Smith (just went to a live broadcast of him a few weeks back at a local theater) so it's inevitable, haha.

Oh yeah, definitely. I see his points, and he does make good ones. But he's gotta work on his delivery and being more liked by the group. He and Rick could make a great team (as they proved they could do on the police force, before the apocalypse hit). Otherwise, if he keeps going down this path... there's liable to be some kind of mutiny and they'll kick him out, or just kill him outright if they think he's a big enough threat. No matter how good his intentions, he's deceptive and a loose cannon, prone to acting too quickly and not thinking enough. He needs to join the other group, the one that was firing on our guys in the bar.
Sorry for the long post but there was a lot of stuff Undead Fred said that I had to address. Since he was wrong about so many things. ;-)

And now Hershel has a better idea of what type of people could have come to the farm. A few more "decent" people around might be a good idea. I think all three of our guys flinched a little at the "cooze" remark, since all of them had "women folk" at home.
