Comic-Con '11: More Photos from 'Walking Dead' Season Two, Teaser Poster!


Andrea (Laurie Holden), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal), Carol (Melissa McBride), Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) topline the first of many new images from the Atlanta, Georgia production of The Walking Dead: Season Two.

Frank Darabont Quits The Walking Dead

This has come as a complete surprise, one that I’m sure none of us had seen coming. Unfortunately at this time it looks as if Frank Darabont has stepped down as the showrunner for AMC’s hit show, The Walking Dead.

According to Deadline, he will be stepping down from his duties as showrunner which has come as a shock since Darabont was at this years Comic-Con this past Friday. There is speculation that Darabont could be off the show completely, but they hear that he could stay on in a different capacity.

For me this is such a shock, this was the guy who spent five years trying to get a TV show off the ground based on Robert Kirkman’s comics. However, none of the above has affected the second season of The Walking Dead which is still scheduled for it’s release on October 16th.

Glen Mazzara Takes Over The Walking Dead

Yesterday was an unfortunate shock. We still have no inkling as to why Frank Darabont stepped away from being the showrunner for AMC’s The Walking Dead or to what capacity if any he will continue to be in.

However, according to Deadline, Glen Mazzara will now be the new showrunner for The Walking Dead, taking the shoes Frank Darabont once filled. Mazzara who joined the show at the beginning of Season 2 was Darabont’s number 2 so he was first in line to takes the reins.

As Mazzara the showrunner he will continue being an executive producer for the show with the second season airing on October 18th.

This and WWZ are the two things I'm really looking forward to....well them and The Hobbit.

Walking Dead Frank Darabont Firing Updates… its Ugly!

The big question on all the fans minds over the last little while has been why was Frank Darabont let go from The Walking Dead? It caused a fair bit of outrage and turmoil on the internet as fans questioned why this happened when you consider Frank has been the biggest advocate for getting the series made from the very beginning. To abruptly fire him so soon after Comic Con was put simply quite shocking.

It would seem however that the cast & crew are equally upset about Frank leaving The Walking Dead Season 2 according to trade rag The Hollywood Reporter.

FX if anything else...I don't think a lot of people have or want to have to pay for HBO/Showtime/Starz etc.

I agree if AMC are going to be stupid and cut budgets for TWD, the show should move to another network
