This is for gear. No firearms or swords please. Things like packs, armor, vests, pouches, clothing, aid kits, tools. Food/Water that you actually have at the moment.
If you have a get home bag and bug out bag, list it here.

Tobacco, example of my sealed ammo packs, Snugpak Merlin sleep system.

Underdude thanks for getting this post rolling.

Just checked and our camera is still working. In the car she dropped pop all over it and it wouldn't work. Long story short, it is dry and working. I hope to post some of my items for thoughts.

I do have a few questions. In your 2nd pic, do you keep all those items together and why?

Is that pipe tobacco or roll your own? I quit 6 months ago, but if the Apoc comes, I am lighting up.

Do you store your fishing gear, food and water, and toilet paper together? Why? Or did you just place different things in the pics?

I don't smoke, it's only there for trade and such. Figure it should be pretty damn popular. It's roll your own but pipe smoke might be good if I could stop the smell of it..
No order for the pictures, just set stuff out and took photos last time I checked it.
Different pockets and pouches for stuff, and obviously I like to vaccuum pack stuff. I have a smaller version in my jeep, came in handy today when it hit 105.

At first, bitchy people who are slow to embrace reality will only want their regular brand, at their regular value. I wonder how long a person has to go through nicotine withdrawal before they'll take whatever tobacco product you push on them?

Not long. Add all the extra stress and they'll probably trade most anything..
Each pack is around 50 smokes. I have 4 now. What could I get for one?

One pack matt. I'm considering adding more. And checking into pipe tobacco.
Coffee might work as well.

I think beer would be non-existant for a while. It'll be all about the booze.

Usually I buy surplus off of Cheaper than Dirt or from Zahal (despite high prices).

Does anybody know anything about swisslink.com? Is it reliable? I thought about starting a surplus thread but am asking here instead.

Thanks,

In the Apoc smokes would be a luxury item and therefore grab a nice bartering price. Nicotine is a stimulant and also known to relieve tension. Former smokers, no longer concerned with future health, would likely love to resume the habit or at least have one last smoke before they die. I think chewing tobacco would be more profitable than pipe leaf. And if they saw smokes vac sealed they'd likely give an arm and leg for the promise of freshness. :blowingsmoke:

I agree that it is terrible for one's health, but people would buy it or you wouldn't have it to trade. It is kinda like a morale item and that means big money where sh!t sucks. Alochol isn't likely worth it's weight either compared to something else a person could pack, but you can bet a lot of people would trade nicely for even a night's drunk. Smoking is bad for you, but when you don't even know if you'll live till morning, you really don't care.

Bob I think I'm in love.
By terrible I meant nasty smell. My bro is here with his family and when goes outside to smoke I smell it on him for an hour. Can't believe I used to smell like that.

I can smell some smokers when they walk down my hall at work.
I know they are coming before I see them.

Some people breath so heavy you hear them.
Some people have a smell, sometimes good some times not.
Some people jingle from stuff in their pockets.
I try to move quietly (don't always succeed but try)

I love the pic! The knife is a nice touch. One question. Is the guy in the background superimposed? It turns a still into an action photo in a cool way.
