zed scenario: Your in your home, when the out break happens, you have exactly 24 hours until they get to your area. what would you do?
I would take everything useful to the attic of my friends house. his house is a good place to be. his house is tall. I would block the stairs with every piece of furniture kill the power and wait until either it ends, or we run out of supplies.

You have a 24 hour notice and your plan is to hide in an attic and starve to death?

No not starve. I would stock pile all our food from mine and his pantry up there(my grandfather is a food hoarder) so we would be fine for a few months. after we run out of food and water we would probably move on.
And to underdude: It's your home or town. It all depends on what you have available where you are.

Do you realize how much food and water that is? For a few months? The attic would collapse.

You might want to rethink that. How will you feel after only one month doing that?

I barely eat much anyway so i would be fine. i could live off uncooked top ramen noodles if i had to.
After we have eaten all the food we would probably go on the offense till we found somewhere else to set camp.

And what's you friend doing while you're taking over his house? I see nothing but "me, me, me" from you.

You actually can't live off of a meal a day of ramen noodles. Your body needs more to function than 200 calories and a half ounce of fiber in your sh!t.

Whoa! Another top ramen reference.
If I remember correctly, a MRE has 1200 calories. Ask a military person how long would they go eating only one meal.
Water? You can only last days without it. What's the minimum per day needed? If you have the proper amount to last months, imagine how big that stack would be. I have water ration pouches in my kit, for 2 people for 20 days.......minimum recommended for survival. It nearly takes and entire bag along with food ration bars. Do you have any idea how heavy that bag is?
I would still need to look for water almost immediately.
If you're working or fighting, it would last less than half that time.
Look this stuff up, you'll be amazed. If you wait in your attic until you run out (or deplete it too much), you're screwed anyways. You'll be moving and probably running. Then what? LOOK IT UP and LISTEN.

I want this to sound harsh for emphasise. What are you doing with your 2-man p!ss and sh!ts? These create toxic fumes. And lastly are you going to be wearing the Pirate Jack get-up, but with a real cutlass?

I really love how many peoples' idea of disaster preparedness is "When bad stuff happens, I'll go to so-and-so's house and set up shop there."
This is a prime example why you should never tell people you are a prepper unless they are like-minded individuals and actively prepping as well.

How do you tell the difference between a prepper and a mall ninja or wannabe?
