Okay I saw vids today on youtube of people putting horror films that they thought going into to them that they would be great and love but they didn't.

What are some horror films that you had high expectations of but then they just blew out the ass or you were just dissapointed?

Halloween 2 - remake

For me it was the strangers. I remenber seeing the trailer and poster and got really excited. But when I got round to watchhing the film it really annoyed me. First time I've watched a fim where I wanted the killers to hurry up and kill their victums.

And based on true events? The Strangers wasn't even close to what happened.

I liked The Strangers better than Ills. But the real story is that a wife and husband were killed over in europe in some country by hooligans but I can't recall what really happened but the people are in prison for it now.

The director said he based it on the Sharon Tate murder by the Charles Manson "family" and also when he was a kid someone called to his door looking for a girl and all the empty houses on the street got robbed. Really now, that to me feels like false advertising.

Actually the closest true event it was based on was in northern CA. We took a drive over there, we were filming about an hour away for 2 weeks. I'll look it up.

Got it, Keddie Resort, CA
They were found by their teenage daughter I believe.
Kind of a strange place, bunch of rentals and a huge parking lot.

Halloween 2 for sure. I thought the inital remake was crap. But I figured, he's going to take it in his own direction, and Myers is actually going to be evil instead of just a normal ****ed up kid grown serial killer.. But it was just junk. Alternate ending made it better, still though, not a great movie. I saw Last House on the Left in 09 and while I thought it was decent the first time through I was kind of illibriated watching it lol and when I sobered up I kind of remembered what I'd watched and it was crap; I wasnt fond of their casting the badass off of breaking bad either. Ummm... Grindhouse I thought would be awesome, loved watching the trailer, looked badass but I rate that very low everytime someone talks about it. Total cop out film.

I didn't expect to like The Fog remake, i heard it was bad, so my expectation was low, but it was worse than that.

I didn't like Survival of the Dead either, but at least it just about kept up with my low expectations.

SPOLLERS

I wouldn't go as far to say that it was total crap but i just don't think it measures up to other films of the time like The Burning for instance. It had it's moments like the head under the hood scene but to have two decapitations in the same movie is just lazy & not very inventive.

In saying that you get to see Gaylen Ross's tits so it's not all bad.

The last resident evil movie. I won't even say the name. Nice airplane flying shot though...falling asleep. I like the chick landing on one knee shot too. that was original. If you can't be as tough as the toughest lady ever in movies...don't try.

I have to say I never expected the Halloween remakes to be good, I can't stand Rob Zombie movies, he always has to "white trash" everything up for some reason. That said, I finally saw the first Halloween remake (on TV) and yep, hated it. Don't rape the Shape!

Romero's latest movies don't quite get my blood pumping anymore (Land, Survival), but there's still something about his style that's definitely Romero. Diary of the Dead was worse than I thought it'd be though.
I don't usually have high expectations for zombie movies, there's sooo many bad ones out there.

I'm a fan of Crispen Glover so thought i would love this film but if i'm honest his performance was the best thing about it but i did like the kills but other than that the story just plodded along.

I use to have the original on dvd but gave it away cause I really care for it too much. HG Lewis's best films are Gore Gore Girls, Blood Feast, and 2000 Maniacs.

I've not seen the original yet. Have you seen the remake bud?
