Hello Zombie fans, I just had to register into this groovy dead website to share with the most authentic fans of the genre my latest claymation video/series. I too have been a looong time Zombie fanatic since growing up while watching every film during saturdays monster matinee on TV...I am a claymation animator who has had a totally crescent fresh depiction of a Zombie filled world brewing in my head for the past 8 years. I began sculpting the zombies 8 years ago, but some how never managed to begin production on this massive undertaking. I recently quit my job in a parking lot to pursue this craft full time, and most of all, create the first several chapters of my story titled "Holiday Weekend"
I just completed the first chapter, I really hope this gains an audience, I feel confident this would make a very unique claymation series for after hours on Adult Swim or something....I am honored to be sharing this on a board where everyone shares the same fascination with this cataclysmic concept! I love feedback, I am a feedback junky, positive or negative, I am sooo very interested to hear what some true zombie fans think! The synopsis/back story is under the youtube video, just hit "show more"...Also, "Holiday Weekend" is coming to DVD June 16, and I will be at the Philadelphia comic con for it's official launch! Enjoy!!!

this was really badass, can't wait to see the rest! ;)

I've always been a big fan of claymation and this was a great piece of art.As for negative comments i really don't have anything to say except sometimes the music or radio was a little louder then his voice which sometimes didn't let me hear what he was saying, but that could be my laptop.

That was very good. Great job! I thought the movements were well done. And one thing that always impresses me is liquid movement. Best of luck to you on the dvd and future media possibilities.

My love of zombies exceeded by my love of animation. Your work resembles a cross between Art Clokey and Robot Chicken. The gore is gorgeous.

I too thought the radio and music was sometimes too loud, but the animation was awesome!

Wow, wow, wow!
Thank you all sooo much for the amazing feedback. Really happy I posted the video here, after all, you guys are clearly the crowd that would enjoy, share ,and return for more!

It's so nice to here some pople actually speaking highly of the gore factor, I have way to many people complain about that to me(especially my parents)
"why does there always have to be blood?" , "why does every one always die in your claymations"....the brutal truth- its just way more fun to be destructive while shooting these videos...its kind of like my "roots" for this craft any how, my very first production at the age of 10 was done with several lego men, some M.A.S.K figures, and a bottle of ketchup, so it kinda became a staple for my stop motion work.

i hear ya guys on the radio audio, maybe I rushed the audio mix a lil(had only 4 weeks to make this from start to final edit, I had to have it up by June 1st mostly for my DVD replication deadline too)...but I really did aim to make the radio the focus of the piece...here we have this lonely guy, who only 4 weeks into the global disaster, ahs already convinced him self that this radio is his "girlfriend".....

cool, any one here going to be at the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con this month by any chance? I'll havea Tales of Isoaltion table in artist alley if anyone wants to drop by, say hi, and maybe buy a copy of my ultra bizarre claymation DVD!!

thank you all kindly for taking the time to watch my work ,it means alot, your feedback mean even more!! THANKS!!!!!

I can only echo what others have already said: GOOD STUFF! A clever synopsis for a zombie short. I agree though, that the radio was a tad too loud, and sometimes (especially at first, when you're figuring out what's going on) it threatened to cover up the narrator's voice.

I loved the gore, truly. Very well-done Mr.Oz.

I'm curious if you've seen Chainsaw Maid 1 and 2? They're another great short, zombie claymation videos.

The gore in your other zombie short Recession is even more abundant and over-the-top.. amazing.

I loved the gore. Don't hold back. I really liked the way the ax slid through the zombies bodies like butter. That looked great! I enjoyed your claymation more than most of the new zombie films I have seen lately.
Keep up the great work.

paultagonist- Yes, I am very much aware of Chainsaw Maid 1 and 2....the first one came out right when I was sculpting some zombies and I was very jealous of its success and being featured on Youtube...I think thats why I held off on continuing "Holiday Weekend" at the time because I didnt want to be grouped with that video...and the sequel to Chainsaw maid is very well done aswell, but to me, its very odd that a stop motion artist with so much talent like the guy that produced the sequal, would just straight up copy and continue some one elses work, even replicating the sculpts...I wouldnt be to pleased if some one did that to "Holiday Weekend", its just as confusing to me as Hollywood executive remaking "Nightmare on Elm Street"....
Also I noticed a trend in claymation Zombie pieces, they all seem to use Chainsaws.....I wanted my peice to be more like "Final Destination" with the kills, like the most unexpected random methods of destroying zombies ina log cabin with barely anything in it....not too mention I have an extremely well rounded and articulate background story that will allow for almost endless "Holiday Weekend" stories....
...So yeah, while I was creating "Holiday Weekend" , everything was made to "one up" Chainsaw Maid 1 & 2...I set out to make "the best" zombie clayamtion on the web, so I wanted to make superior sculpts, superior set details, and most of all realistic blood, well realistic in terms of its dark red appearance rather than the bright rose red blood used in the other pieces....
....and It's so cool you found "Recession 2009" and posted it, those two zombies were supposed to be for "Holiday Weekend", they were two of the zombies I sculpted when "Chainsaw Maid" came out....I had them stored in a plastic bin for years where some how they dried out to the point where they were just crumbling and breaking apart.....I was unemployed and having a really horrible year trying to get a job, so I did the only thing I knew how to do, and made it a tribute to the Recession that was kicking my life's ass!

morbidfilm- your right, the ax kills were very "buttery" something I didnt set out to do, but it works very well with the story, becuase in "holiday Weekend" the zombies are all severely rotted and decomposed, very easy to kill.

Mrknot- Yes!! My very first official internet interested customer!!! I certainly will have a page set up on the site after the convetnion where you can purchase the DVD..I will PM you after the show with more details, and try to get you a copy as quick as possible!!! The DVD is truly one of the most interesting and unique entertainment experiences you will have! Very fresh and original material, and it has 13 Tales of Isolation, all of which never get old after repeat viewings!!

Its really great hearing all the praise and viewer ejoyment, I thank all of you so much!!!

Awesome man.
Do you have a website?
And on the DVD, do any of the other 11 pieces feature zombies?
Thanks! I'm going to share this on ZMDB.org as well.

Zombie colonel- Yeah I got the website from my old comedy show still chillin on the world wide web,
http://mrozshow.com/
the Tales of Isolation site is still a work in progress..

The other 11 pieces on the DVD feature everthing from talking hotdogs, fun dancing creatures, a Cubed Snowman, and some totally tripped out Sci-fi elements, alien battles, more gore, and very bizarre comedy...its an incredibly unique & unpredictable entertainment experience, the kind you can enjoy over and over and over again, so many people who bought have told me they repeatedly show it to any one that walks through their front door! Recession 2009 and Holiday Weekend are currently the only 2 zombie pieces of I've done, but I have Holiday Weekend Part 2 on the way and it wont dissapoint!!

...and yes, I already got in touch with the Admin of ZMDB.org, Tales of Isolation is officially listed on there, so very cool! IU'll find the link later on!

Dark Lord of the Undead- your going to have one cool kid when he grows up...my 8 and 10 year old cousins are OBSESSED with this DVD, they've been forcing all their friends to watch it...I was kinda concerned because of the zombie gore, but they were laughing hysterically at it, kinda took me by surprise, I thought they'd have nightmares...but kids these days are like tough as nails with all the crap they are seeing...

I just relisted the DVD ebay page, kinda new to the whole ebay scene, didnt realize I only had it listed for 7 days the 1st time..I gota feeling some on here might be interested in owning this sucker!
