I just googled "zombie comics," and the second result is http://www.allthings....com/comics.php! At first I thought this was great. But upon clicking on the link, of course all the information is from like 2006. Ouch. Not good for ATZ's reputation, nor for bringing in fresh members. I wish there were a way to update the main site.

You're not the first member to lodge a complaint about the main site's lack of activity. I don't think the 'Main Page' or any of it's elements is a huge recruiting inducement for prospective members, however its pages do bring some attention to the message board nonetheless. The primary motivating factor which draws people into joining our forum community are the topic discussions, and overall activity on the board. However, by not updating the categories on the Main Site, ATZ is missing an opportunity in elevating its status in the Zombie/Horror community. I've been meaning to speak with Dead Kev for a while now about the possibility of converting the Main Site into a "Multi-User Blog" which can receive input from multiple contributors as opposed to leaving it as a traditional FTP style web page.

We all know that the message board is the "meat" of ATZ. Perhaps some recent activity from the board could be displayed on the main page. Something to show that this board is alive and well.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I came up with the same idea while we were in the process of moving over to the new board however, DeadKev said that he had no plans at that time to revitalize the main site. He even suggested about dropping it all together, but we later decided to keep it up & running for the time being.

Yeah well, don't hold your breath. It's just an idea at this point. Some planning & effort would have to be put into it to make it a reality. The part that makes sense for me is that with the existing FTP style web page, the site designer & owner (DK) has to constantly upload to keep the site updated. DK is much too much going on in his life, so that's not gonna happen. However with a blog style web page, DK would only have to perform the initial set up, and I and whoever, could operate it after that.
Ahhh, we can dream can't we?

If I go to a site and it's all information from 2006, I'm not going to poke around the site further -- I'm gonna go elsewhere. I'd never have known there was a thriving forum community.

But how do you find out about the forums in the first place, unless you specifically search "zombie forums" or something?

When I open the Main Page the first thing I see is Kev's Walking Dead ads. Yeah, it wouldn't hurt if we could have little more attention pointed at the board.

Well, if you just use the single term "Zombie" when doing a search you are not going to turn up too many message boards.

I agree but there are many sites on the net that feature only a message board and no main site or one that's worth mentioning. The main web page was really just a distraction to get away from the forums for a while.

Then shouldn't the forums be the focus of the main page? It's weird that it's one of the most active zombie forums on the internet, yet everything else is dead. And weird that a distraction should be the first thing you encounter, heheheh.
