Well, some of us are a whole lot older than that. I think Bob might have actually fought in the civil war
You know how I am with tools. No pain was inflicted intentionally.

Ok drinking it is.
But we have to do shots.
And I don't mean those fruity mixy things that people call shots these days.
I mean straight shots.
Drink till you puke or pass out.
Or we could have a spelling Bee and for every word you spell wrong you do a shot.
But we have to do shots.
And I don't mean those fruity mixy things that people call shots these days.
I mean straight shots.
Drink till you puke or pass out.
Or we could have a spelling Bee and for every word you spell wrong you do a shot.

The services want alot of people to join. They realize their mistakes in many cases and throw the bums out after a short time. Recruiters recrit. It's their job. So they turn a blind eye to things that would normally get a person kicked out the door.

Yeah. Taco Bell would eat you alive.
The Military wanted me too. I was getting a recruitment letter a week, National Guard, Air Force, USMC, Army, Navy. I was too busy smoking pot, drinking beer, and failing classes to enlist.

They've actually tightened down the standards severely. People that could get in before with minor law infractions can't now. We're in a downsizing movement, which in my eyes is a good thing. We let a lot of idiot thugs in there for awhile, and we're finally getting back to a military with some standards.

The Air Force is in the same mode. My son, a Senior Airman, was turned down for loadmaster school because that, as well as most jobs, were overstaffed. The services can afford to be picky and choosy now.

It means the recruiter is doing his job. Whether you're truly acceptable will be known when you hit basic training, maybe even MEPS. A surfe way to get kicked out would be to let fly with one of your bigoted remarks or let your nazi leanings be known. The services are letting guys go who've had a single alcohol related incident such as drunk in public. Security Forces in the Air Force requires a psychiatric evaluation also. Many potential students get kicked out based on that alone. My son already passed his, he's considering Security Forces and is working with them now, and he said it was pretty stringent.

Keep your mouth shut definately. But you won't be able to lie on the psych eval. It isn't made that way. There will also be a rather stringent background check for a security clearance. And yes, that really means an FBI agent visiting your friends, neighbors, relatives, and others in the community who may know you asking questions about your background and beliefs.
