Anyone here watch them? You may be surprised at the graphic nature of some of these films, especially ones from the 60's and 70's. If you watch them, which ones have you seen? I find them more entertaining than porn.

I own a few sexploitation films, but I find that they tend to be rape heavy. One in particular that I own Sex and Fury is hard to watch at times. For the most part this is my least favorite sub-genre of exploitation films.

Ooo I just bought that not too long ago, the Criterion edition. Kind of a brutal film. I supposed it could be called a sexploitation film but personally I wouldn't consider it as such. Then again I don't know much about the genre. Would I Spit on Your Grave be considered one?

I think it is, the original at least.
I forgot to mention all the women's prison flicks.
Sado was twisted. All the scat stuff was nasty. But with all the hype I had to watch it, I'll never watch that one again.
Loved the woman's revenge on Spit on, payback is a bitch.

I thought that too the first time I watched it, "I'll never watch this again!".. but here I am, some years later, buying it, heh. Once you get over the initial shock of the extreme graphic nature of it all, you're more free to think about the meaning of the film, such as it is (fascism, consumerism, capitalism, power).
I watched I Spit on Your Grave because Roger Ebert called it "the worst movie ever made." And of course it's far from that, I found it a pretty good revenge flick. If graphic. I've not seen the remake yet but it's near the top of my Netflix queue! Hopefully it's better than the Last House on the Left remake..

You didn't like that one? I thought it was decent, loved the microwave.
There's another flick based on the same story called Chaos. The rape scene in that was pretty disturbing, another one I won't watch. Don't know why exactly that stuff usually doesn't bother me.
Wasn't Spit On considered the longest rape scene ever filmed? Sure beat Irreversable.

It was all right, but too glossy, didn't have the same impact as the original did. I like grit. >:-D And I Spit on Your Grave definitely had that gritty, dirty feel to it. I hope they keep some of that and it doesn't look like some big Hollywood production or something.
I've never heard of Chaos but I'll check it out.. I'm kinda glad when stuff still gets to me; when stuff is still hard to watch. Lets me know I'm still a feeling person and haven't totally obliterated my senses yet. But I still jump at the chance to watch a disturbing film, heheh.
Irreversible was really good but for all its hype, really just a couple scenes were disturbing, especially the anal raping. Yeesh.

How about the head bashing with the fire extinguisher? That was hard core! :headbang:

I was surprised to see Monica in a scene like that. The guy who walked in and took of running....What a wimp. Couldn't live with myself if I left her there and let that happened. He should be next to get keistered.

I know a few websites that show films for free, all kinds, horror included, new and old. PM and I'll let ya know what they are, don't want to post them here. They show the box art as well. They have remakes too.

I have seen a few of these movies. The titles I can remember are:

Chaos --3/5 stars
I Spit On Your Grave --3/5
Irreversible --2/5
Closure --3/5
Deadgirl --3/5
Naked Fear --4/5 (not 100% positive this would fall into the same category)
A Serbian Film --3/5

I've seen them all except for closure and dead girl. Naked fear qualifies I think. Serbian film was an odd one. What did you think of chaos?

Chaos was very raw...brutal. It made me cringe a few times--especially when he cut off her nipple. I hate to admit I like these kinds of movies--makes me seem twisted....LOL!!

A few more to add...again, I am not sure if they all qualify as sexploitation movies:

Cannibal Holocaust --3/5
Hard Candy -- 4/5
Descent --3/5 (not the cave movie)
Caligula --4/5

Now descent was a twisted flick, but he deserved every bit of it. If you want to be a date rapist you better have a good memory. Hard candy was good but there was no nudity so I'd say no. Cannibal holocaust qualifies I think, one of my favorites of all time, especially the reaction after it was released. The cast had to stay hidden for a year after the filming. Excellent marketing to say the least! Caligula was ok, if you like that check out the image or the rest of tinto brass flicks.

Haven't seen the remake yet, hope they do the original justice.

There is another subgenre of these films, ones including "unsimulated sex". These are not considered porn just called mainstream films with unsimulated sex. Surprisingly most of these films are from the late 60's to early 80's. There are lists of these films online but are rarely updated. I'm currently making my own list by year, when completed I'll post it online. See what a little bordem can do?

I saw the remake of I Spit on your Grave recently and it wasn't bad. I like a bit of poetic justice and you get that in this movie. Yet to see the original though. I was always fascinated by the trailer when I was a kid but never actually saw the movie. Despite the horror movies I did get to see as a kid I guess my mum thought I Spit was a bit too much.

Like the bathtub scene in Spit? The remake I mean.
I was in the same boat. Mom said no way but dad let me watch that stuff if she wasn't around.
Watched another flick last night, Run Bitch Run. Another ripoff of last house.
