I'm thinking that this will be our April movie night movie. It can be had for cheap, I paid 9.95 this weekend for it at Walmart.

I also picked up my copy at Wally World last week, and I too have already watched it twice. I wasn't sure about it the first time around, but now I really like it. One of the best Z movies made in a long time.

I just got the "limited edition" 2-disc Blu-ray set from Amazon.de (Germany). I needed something to try out in my new region-free Blu-ray player so it was a good excuse. :-P I've seen the movie once and look forward to watching it again, especially in HD. I wish I could attend the movie night with ya guys.
And you're right, it's one of the best zombie flicks to come out in a while. Quality stuff.

You can't buy them from a regular store. The one that I bought was a "chipped" dvd player that bypasses the region setting. They're not hard to find with some searching.

Sure.. It's a Seiki BD660 Blu-ray player. It was sold last year at Wal-Mart Canada for like $88 during their Black Friday thing. It doesn't come as region-free, but with a simple and quick settings change you can make the DVD player portion region free (region 0) and you can set the Blu-ray player portion to region A, B or C (America is A, which is the default). You have to do this if you want to watch a Blu-ray disc that is from another region. I got it on eBay for like $120 which is quite a good deal, seeing as how it'll play practically every disc known to man. Video and audio quality is excellent, right on par with my PlayStation 3 Blu-ray player (the only other thing I really have to compare it to). All other reviews on the net agree it's a good player, I did a bit of research before just buying it blindly.

You can buy region-free DVD players anywhere; they start at about $50 on Amazon. I don't think there's such a thing as region-free Blu-ray players, so changing the factory setting to whatever region you want before playing the disc is the next best thing.

There is one movie I have seen where voodoo zombies eat the living, and they are dead zombies as well. Sugar Hill, I think it was.

I don't think those really count; I mean they were old black slave zombies weren't they? They were brought back by some voodoo trickster-type god and not a bokor. I dunno it's a grey area I guess.

Why not ? Still created by VooDoo, and still flesh eaters.

I ahve Sugar Hill from the 70's with the black zombies with silver eyeballs that look like ping pong balls but I don't recall them eating people. I think they just killed them by strangling them or using weapons. It was a cheesy fun flick though. Sorta like Shock Waves was.

Does Fulci's ZOMBIE not count? I think those are "Voodoo" zombies in the sense they are brought back to life by Voodoo, and they sure do chomp up some folks.

You're right and perhaps Zombie Holocaust had the same too.

Yeah I suppose it would.. too bad there's not a scene in Zombi 2 showing some voodoo witchdoctor or somebody resurrecting the dead.

In Zombie Holocaust they were some type of "Voodoo" zombie but I don't remember them eating anyone. The only cannibalism I remember in that movie is from the natives.

Bought a copy of The Dead. I thought it was pretty good. I would like to see a sequel.

I also would love to see a sequel, Anyone know what the DVD sales are for this? Hopefully the Ford brothers can get enough $$ from it to make the sequel. I know I contributed by buying the movie as did another buddy of mine.
