So Cav,
How do you REALLY feel about Heckler & Koch firearms?

I don't hate HK. I just don't think that it builds guns that are better than any other manufacturer. And there customer service sucks balls.

Nothing to explain. Having fired a few HK guns I didn't find them to be any better, or worse, than similar guns from other manufacturers. As for their customer service, a few friends have had a hell of a hard time getting HK to fix problems. The staff was snobbish and only grudgingly gave support. HK's geared more towards military and LE sales anyway.

They're also overpriced.

For example, you can get two Glocks for the price of one of their pistols, and have the same reliability and accuracy if not better. Of course if you do that, as a compromise, you have to wade through ten times as many aftermarket accessories whenever you feel like tacking on any upgrades.

I call them Haggle and Choke.

+1 on what Matt said about price.
I can't argue quality as I don't own even one of their products.
The only thing they make I would like to have I can't own.
I would like to have an MP5-K but alas uncle clintoon and his cousin obamination do not want me to have one.

If you join the GSSF for 30 bucks a year, you can get a coupon for any Glock handgun, I think it's $429, except for large frames, they run a bit more, say $30.
I bought mine 16 years ago and paid $499, Model 23.

Move to Nevada Bob, you can get one there just buy the tax stamp that runs about $300.
I see many for sale there, including the MP-5SD, but it was $5300.

I've fired a couple MP5s and they're not bad. For close quarters I would much prefer an 8" 6.8mm SPC. They're small, accurate, and generally amazing.

I can have one in my state.
I just can't swing the price.
Select fire is stupidly expensive.

I went w/ the Rossi, in pink.
A couple of pairs of kid-sized heavy duty ear muffs and mini safety glasses later and we just took it out into the woods about a week ago. Took out some pop cans and water bottles.
They loved it!
I left the .22 barrel on it for now, the .410 bucks a little much for them.
I also went ahead and got them a daisy lever action BB gun, (also pink), as it is a little more backyard friendly.

Yes, BOTH remain locked up in the safe, which only the Mrs and I have access to.

naw, that's been around as you can see form the tag. i agree with him though. they cost to much anyway!

i can''t remember exactly how old i was when i first fired a gun. i do have a small scar over my right eye to remember the first big bore i shot. it was a remmie 700 in 30-06 and it belonged to my brother. he let me shoot it to prove to his buds i could do it. he knelt behind me and helped hold it up, but not so well that i didn't take a scope knock! i was so pumped i didn't quite notice right away that my head was open. i still have the scope with the dent in it!

guns were always around and were considered tools in my place and time. at a certain point i was given a single shot boys rifle and the responsibility of guarding the garden from birds and rabbits. that was the life! at least until i was old enough to help bale hay!
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag and begin slitting throats... -H.L. Mencken

dude, if you ever shoot me with a .25, and i find out about it, i'll kick yer ass!
