Why don't you try reading the articles first, then evaluate your opinion from that.

Guess i should have read it, still, i dont like the idea, its either going to be a massive success or a brilliant failure, and it cant live up to the original, surely.

The Thing was a GREAT movie out of a long line of great horror movies to come out in the late 1970s, and the 1980s. But judging by hollywoods recent track record these last 10+ years I can understand why people are not really up for this, plus its the right of everyone on the internet to bitch n complain. Like the new Nightmare on Elm Street, I liked it at the theater, but after I got it on DVD last week, and watched it again at home, found it to slow, allmost kind of boring. What Im trying to say is that the classics like NOES, The Thing, Friday the 13th, and others you never get tired of watching them, most of the stuff/remakes/prequels comming out of hollywood, or where ever are not that good, no one wants to be original anymore. Its like the current state of music, gone and forgotten in 6 months, but classic rock never goes away.

read about this in Empire magazine, hmm looks no bad i guess.
but yeah i dont think they had to do anything more with this, JC The Thing is epic and is fine as a stand alone film.

You know, I wouldnt mind checking out what they have to offer for The Thing Prequal.
I mean. It could be lame, but theres one way to find out. WATCH EETTTT..!!
>w< I also agree with that the new Nightmare on Elm Street was good, but not to watch more than once.
In my opinion I dont mind that hollywood has remakes.. just keep to the plot, theme, and/or storyline, with a little less boobies and Im all good for my bedtime story <3

Can't blame a guy for trying haha. But yeah, a horror movie can be good without bewbs (but it helps sell the male audience)

This topic has been silent for quite a while, but we now have something new to report.
The Thing Prequel Unofficial Facebook page has literally uploaded a ton pics from the set. I can't post them all so I'm posting some of the ones of the "Thing," "Monster," "Alien" or whatever you want to call it (I guess that's why they call it the "Thing").

I liked the Original and wished that there would be a monster.

I just caught the last 3/4 of Carpenter's "The Thing" on the boob tube Sat night (not to be confused with boobies) I hadn't seen it in years. Wow, those effects still hold up today!
Now I'm kinda interested in this prequel.

MTV interviews leading actress Mary Winstead and gives us a 'peek-a-boo' scare clip. 'The Thing' Star Previews 'Terrifying And Disgusting' Prequel
'There's one [scene] in particular that stands out to me that's just horrific,' actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead says in our Fall Movie Preview.
It's a horror-movie question almost 30 years in the making: What the hell happened to the Norwegian researchers discovered toward the beginning of the 1982 John Carpenter cult fave "The Thing"?
Kurt Russell and his crew do end up stumbling into some terrifying answers, but Carpenter's flick concentrates on the alien horrors the Americans endure. The 2011 fall movie season, however, is set to uncover what really happened before Russell touched down in the Antarctic, as director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. delivers a prequel story, also called "The Thing," to theaters on October 14. As part of MTV News' Fall Movie Preview, we're not only debuting an exclusive clip and photo from the horror flick about an alien able to mimic the likenesses of other life forms, but we sat down for a chat with star [Read More Here]
