Look inyo SOC backpacks, I have one that I bought when I was training at Camp Pendleton. Wiley X gloves are good, and pretty cheap, at least here, and if you look at military surplus sites you could probably find a bivysack which is a goretex shell for a sleeping bag.

USMC ILBE packs are the most comfortable you can find. Pretty pricey though.

I dont like the ILBEs when it comes to hiking with a flak on though. Theyre good packs however. SOC packs are better for BOBs, I'll post pictures some time this week.

Yea adding a flak makes quite a bit of difference. If this thread is related to a zombie apoc I doubt many would be wearing flak jackets and that sort of thing so that's why I suggested it.

Nah Im gonna rig up my deuce gear, take all my mag pouches and IFAK and all that and put it on the LBV I have. Id be rollin light and fast. If Im able to make it out of base with my IAR Id be golden.

1. Crowbar - tool and weapon all in one, break into potential shelter or split skulls
2. Dental floss - you won't get chance to brush your teeth and you won't eat without them
3. Sanitising hand gel - you'll be touchy icky stuff even when zombies aren't around
4. 65L pack - plenty of room for your gear, comfortable on long on foot journeys
5. Hiking boots - good grip, good ankle support
6. Bottled water - hydration is key and you'll get plenty of chance to re-use them
7. Sleeping bag - rated to -21 C, comfy as all hell
8. Area maps - the apocalypse is no time to get lost
9. Iodine - sanitise water and wounds, allows you freedom not to rely on tap water and new bottle of evian
10. 25L pack - for everyday use, stash the 65L safely and use this when mobility is paramount

I don't know if this is the order I'd put them in but they are what I'd choose and I could grab them all in minutes.

From what little i know about gas masks, they require a filter if i'm not mistaken. Replacement filters would be hard to find.
