Not having the "today's posts" button at the top is so far the only thing that's got me. But then i found it at the bottom so it's all good.
Definitely looks more up dated and modern.

I must say as silly as it sounds, I'm a little upset that our ranks were reset. I was pretty close to naming my own rank after all these years.

There are two ways:
1) For only the most recent posts, click on "View New Content" on the right hand side, near the top of the page. It will also show you the most recent public messages posted--depends where you are at on the site when you click it (Click again to change the content)
2) For all of today's new posts, go to "Forums" then scroll down almost to the bottom. Find "Today's Active Content" and click on it.
Hope this helps!

However, I'll try to answer everybody's questions and field any complaints you may have.

Yeah, it might be a bug with this software. The smiley pack that came with this board would show up on top of the emoticons column there. Well, at least the first 7 or 8 then you would have to click on the "show all" button anyway, and I was never crazy about the floating dock that VB (vBulletin) used because it was always in the way. I wasn't too fond of the existing smiley pack, so I replaced all of them with my own recipe, and I haven't heard any complaints yet. However, that's when that little bug popped up with them not showing up on top. I think most members would agree that it's a small price to pay for this collection.

There is going to be a learning curve with everyone including myself. I found that some of the new features were a little strange at first, and perhaps questioned their practicality. Now that I'm quickly adjusting to this new format, I found that these new features are going to make this place far superior to that of VB.
Crombie, on 24 August 2010 - 06:05 PM, said:
Yeah, I hadn't noticed that before until you mentioned it. Thanks Crombie for bringing that up. I however, looked out for those icon images for the opposite reasons. When I would step into the Introduction Forum to welcome all the newcomers, it was very useful because I would look for the threads where I hadn't posted on before. Otherwise I rarely ever used it all. I found that the way most things operate around here are pretty much the same or similar to that of the old forum. Other things may require a little investigating because there may be different method available or a work around to achieve the same result. After investigating this, here are your options:
I. Have you checked out your personal "My Content" feature yet? It lists everything you posted on last by chronological order. You might find that you like this feature more because it lists everything back several pages. To find this feature, follow this path:
- Scroll to the top of the page and Click On your <User Name>, and from the scroll down list, Click On 'My Profile.'
- Next, your profile page will load, and then Click On 'Find My Content' link under your Photo on the left hand side.
- Once your Content Page is up on the screen, make sure the 'Forums' tab is showing. If not, click on it.
II. You can be notified by either/or Email, Personal Conversation (aka PM), and/or Inline Notification if someone:
- Quotes Your Posts
- Watch every topic that you replied to
- Scroll to the top of the page and Click On your <User Name>, and from the scroll down list, Click On 'My Settings.'
- Click On the 'Settings Tab' if it's not already done so, and 'Notification Options' from the list below the tab.
- There are too options to list, but you have to check out which options you prefer, and how you wish to be notified.
- Lastly, scroll to the bottom of the screen and Click On 'Save Changes' in the middle of the screen.
III. You can also apply a 'Watch' to any topic you've posted on. The updates will appear on the right column of the board when you log on next time.
- Open the topic you wish to watch.
- Click On the 'Watch Topic' button at the top right side of the screen.

I hope you or someone else finds this info useful.

Unfortunately, some things don't change very much, and this is one of them. The search on the old forum wasn't much help either, but after spending a lot of time with it over the years, I found out how to make it useful. Give me a little time with it, and I'll get back to you on this.

I haven't loaded the iPhone app for this yet, have you? However, when I visited the forum using my iPhone I got the basic mobile suite that you're talking about even with the app. installed. Yep, it's generic, and limited. From what I can tell, you can do almost everything except access some of the features such as the Chat Room, Calendar, and the Stats. But I agree> I liked vBulletin better here in this respect because I could access my Admin CP, and my modding tools.

Redneck already explained it, but I'll give it a try.
- Open the topic you wish to quote, and Click On all the MultiQuote buttons from each post you wish to quote. If you hightlight the button properly, it should turn from black to a two-tone gray.
- You'll notice that every post has a Black Reply Button to the left of the Multiquote Button. DO NOT CLICK ON THIS BUTTON. Instead, scroll all the way to the very bottom of the screen, and Click On the Green "Add Reply" button on the right hand side, below the last post.

Anyone with with more ???
Please bring them.
