Let's face it, staying on the movie is the best option to not be surrounded and eaten. Bicycles get flats, cars run out of gas. We knows this. When push comes to shove the most effective means of staying on the move is to stay fit. Keeping your feet in good shape is very important.
What kind of footwear do you have? I myself have a pair of Merrell Radlands. They've a very comfortable hiking shoe and I really like them. I also have a pair of water resistant Wolverine boots.

Miner boots, steel toe. They're more comfortable than you'd think once you get used to them, I haven't had trouble marching with them at the service.

Well, some of us are a whole lot older than that. I think Bob might have actually fought in the civil war

When all else fails, you'll still have the good old LPCs. I have several pairs of boots I wear on a regular basis. One are my Army issue desert boots. Very rugged, comfortable, and durable. My absolute favorite though is an old pair of Salamander hiking boots I bought before most here were even born. I've quite literally put thousands of miles on them. They are hands down the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. And durable? The original sole is still on them. Hell, I still have the original laces on them.

Does anybody think zombies can bite through the ankle of a combat boot?

I'd be surprised if a zombie could bite through a regular leather tennis shoe.
The more I think about it, the more I come to believe that mobility is a much better defense than armoring up. Shoes especially. I'd rather have shoes that didn't slow me down than anything else.

Durability also has to factor in. Sure you can help yourself, I don't think shoes will be high on most people's priority lists, but I already hate going to buy shoes right now. I'd hate to think about looking for shoes while ducking zombies. Even more so if I can't find the right freaking size. Also, you may think it reduces mobility but the steel reinforcement can be useful.

Just a pair of Blundstone leather steelcaps, most comfortable work boots I've worn in a while and I've been wearing boots for so long joggers feel too light.

Trade them for something you actually can run in.

For my boots, I'm wearing Dr. Martens since I wore my hiking boots out. I'm fixin to get a pair of the Danner GTX for my new ones. Other than my Docs I wear Adidas Samba classics. I can walk in the Sambas all day, and even at my hardest my last pair of Sambas lasted a year on my feet.

If you get steel toe boots, why not?
At work, I wear my timberland boots. Not the ghetto ones. I've had them for 3 years and they are finally showing wear. I'm always on my feet and these boots ae comfortable. I dont even wear shoes anymore. Summer or winter.

My last pair wore out some time ago, and I haven't had the need to replace them, yet, but a pair of something from Nike's ACG line would be my first choice. Very comfortable since they're based on an athletic shoe last.

I have 3 major preferences:
1. My Brahma Boots (really comfy, but I need to clean the insides of them sometime)
2. My Steve Madden sneakers (not sure what company made them, but I really want to get a new pair soon)
3. My Starter brand velcro sneakers I got for $7 at Wal-Mart
Actually, I would be comfortable in anything EXCEPT my Converse Hi-Tops. Seriously, I learned that the hard way on my first day as a busboy and ruined my feet for over a week!
