[Creeping Death]

This thread is strictly military, police officer, or special forces oriented.
Its about the soldiers waging a war on the living dead, in an attempt to take back control of the once beautiful world.
You can be in any branch of the military, but you can not have an officer rank, only enlisted rank. We are grunts.
The time is current, and the weapons are current.

Location can be where ever you want, as long as you describe whats happening.

Rules:
No taking direct control of other peoples characters.
No killing other characters.
No Officer ranks
No stupid bullshit posts that make it seem like fantasy land.
Zombies are only fast within first few days, then slow down do to decay and exposure to elements.

Operation Turn the Tide is the military's full scale attack against the living dead, in an effort to push back the population of zombies. The Army Rangers 75th Regiment has been called to launch one of the most important parts of the operation.

The solders stood at the fencing, the docks clamoring with civilians desperately trying to get on a boat out of the country. Nixon, and the regiment's mission was clear.
"Protect the harbour at all costs."

Cliff took a long draw from his cigarette before throwing it to the ground. He pushed the heel of his boot down on it and watched as the embers died into the dirt ground. He took a look at the base the group had established. Cliff finally found the man he was looking for and walked over to him.
Finding a soft patch on the ground, Cliff sat down and looked at the base in front of him. The man beside him was screwing on the last of the silencers and Cliff waited until he was done to speak. “Well mate, looks like we’re up shit creek. Prefer to be back home but heck; if I didn’t want to be told what to do I shouldn’t have joined the army. Still it’s bad that we’re stationed here in America.”

there was screaming and moans from the nearby med bay and someone ran out of it over to a nearby squad of rookies who all ran to the med bay and sprayed bullets through the tent door

The bullets had sent a jolt through Cliffs spine. He watched as the medical officer crept slowly back into the tent and vanish out of sight. Taking a deep breath Cliff felt in his pocket for a cigarette but stopped when he came across one and decided to leave it as he might want it later.
“You know anything about this mission other than killing the infected? The Americans don’t seem to like to share with me.”

one of the rookies dove back as a newly turned zombie lunged at him and bit his arm
"*sigh* well sh:poo:t"whispered william to himself as he ran to the medbay while running he took of the combat knife from his leg.
he kicked the zombie in the chest and drove the knife through the brain of the zed

Staff Sergeant Lee and the other 75th Rangers are all sitting at lunch, awaiting the call when an extremely loud alarm sounds off.
Followed by an announcement:

"Attention, Attention, all Rangers and Airborne Infantry report to your battalion commander. I repeat, all Rangers and Airborne Infantry - report to your battalion commander."

"This is it boys." Sgt. Lee says.

Followed by a unanimous "HOOAH!"

*Sgt. Lee grabs his M4 A1 Carbine, and waits behind his men to follow them*

Once all of the Rangers have made it into formation in front of the battalion commander, they are breifed on the mission:

"Congratulations.... You are about to lead the 3rd, and possibly final attack against the living dead. It has been appropriately named: Operation Turn the Tide.
Operation Turn the Tide will be fought on all fronts, and in all places in the U.S. of A.
We need the best trained, and best equipped soldiers to lead the way and strike in the largest populated cities.... and the word around here is...."RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!"

*the rangers let out a loud "HOOAH!"

"Thats right men, we're gonna storm into all of the Major cities, and show those dead fukks, whose boss!..... You specifically are going to be deployed in New York City... Yep, thats right. Your gonna walk down Wall Street with your rifles, and do your job... Your job is to establish a post in the city, and drive back opposing forces. So gather your supplies, and assemble at 1200 hours."

william stood up slowly eyes fixed on the brave soilder. the medic officer walked over to william and said"one of the paitents turned started killin everyone". a zombie stumbled out of the door and grabbed the medic officer who was suprisingly strong and managed to keep the zeds head from biting her. william grabbed the glock from the dead soilders hands and shot the zed in the head.

Brandon saluted the battalion commander.
"Come on Jon, lets get our shit and go!"

1 hour later, the soldiers in Dog Company have collected all neccesary gear and are suited up for combat.

"Well Corporal Blaylock.... welcome to the suck. haha."
"You ever kill a zed?"

"26 confirmed.... and its not a pretty thing." Sgt. Lee says as they boarded an AC130 gunship.

This is pretty strange transportation.... He thought.

"But don't worry, you'll get plenty once we reach New York City.... you seen the pictures of that place?... Damn, talk about hell. They say the living dead to human ratio is around 20:1."

Brandon shakes his head.

"Ya I saw a satelite feed of Times Square...that shits FUBAR...something tells me this aint gonna be a walk in the park..."

"Damn straight, but we'll be fine. Rangers lead the fukkin way! Hooah."

Brandon offers a ciggerette.

"Whadya think about this whole Turn the Tide thing?" :drool:

Nixon watched as the civilians flooded toward the harbour. He quickly extended his right arm, stopping a pale, sickly-looking woman, "You need to get to the medical tent."
Nixon grabbed the woman gently by the arm, but met resistance, "That's my wife, you can't take her!"
"Yeah, she needs to get out of here just like the rest of us!"
"Let her go!"
Several civilians advanced toward him, clenching their fists. Nixon drew his handgun and fired it into the air, "This woman is coming with me to the medical tent. If none of you agree with that, then you can have a talk with my friend. His name is nine millimeter full metal jacket."
Nixon looked toward his would be attackers slowly back off. He slid his handgun back into its holster, and walked with the woman to the medical tent.

"Appreciate it...I've been craving one all day." he says as he sparks up the cig.

"As far as this whole Turn the Tide thing goes...I think its bullshit...whatever genius came up with this is a loon...after what happened to the boys in L.A. im not so sure I trust our superiors descisions. To be honest with you, joining the millitary wasnt exactly my life plan. But my life wasnt going anywhere so I figured this would be a good idea...and then this shit happens...I thought about deserting, but what would be the point...family is dead...I figure im ****ed either way." Jon took a long deep drag of the ciggarette...
