That shotgun is kind of long isn't it?
I have seen wall studs shorter than that.
Just kidding...

Actually I would like to know what kind of paint you used and how resistant to gun cleaner it is.

Yeah, I've got the 28" Turkey barrel on it

Um First off I scored up the surface with sandpaper, high grit stuff, like 300+ then I used High temperature Automotive Spray on Primer. Then I used an Auto Spraypaint I think it was Satin Something... I cant remember the exact name of the color but it wasn;t exactly what I wanted, I think the Primer Lightened it up. Then I used a Clear Coat Spray that was rated for higher Temps. It felt kind of Tacky still after I had let it Dry for days... So I bought some Carnauba Wax and Worked Wax into the Stock... I believe the Clearcoat and Wax are what make it hold up so well to guncleaners, I Usually just rub it down with WD-40 or rem oil anyway. but So far No problems/stains with the surface.

I used the High Temp clear coat and Primer cause I wasn't sure if by shooting it if the gun heating up would ruin normal paint and primer. I feel like the synthetic furniture was also easier than anything in Wood, would have been. I like the two tone too, I un intentionally forgot about the Mag cap and the trigger assembly but then I was like Ehhh the turkey choke and buttpad are black, I was at first intending to do a Digital Woodland pattern but that was easier said than done. All in all it came out OK, Not the greatest but I acts as like a layer of plastic around the gun to protect it, I was getting scratches on the barrel from going through the brush with it during Spring Turkey Season and figured they'd start to rust if I didn't so something quickly.

Here's pics right after I finished it before I threw on the Light Mount and Fiber optic bead.

And in keeping with the spirit of the thread here's my loadout again minus the guns, my knife is on the pack. You can also see my medic bag in this pic... Not exactly matching the rest of me.. but then again my backpack isnt GI either... but I wanted a medic Bag for first aid supplies.

This last weekend Mrs. Hotlead and I heard that Porky the Pig and a few others had been turned into hog-zombies, and were seen on our property in the Sierras and in the adjoining BLM and National Forrest areas. So we decide to go looking for them.

We walked about 9 miles to where we'd had good luck finding hog-zombies before, and spent the night in hammocks and poncho-liners, it was about 75degrees at midnight so we could pack real light, in fact, I humped everything, so it was a nice hike for Mrs. Hotlead.

We broke early the next morning and went over the ridge to the little valley where we expected to see Porky and friends. It was already 80 by 7:30, so it was a little too hot for those guys to be out, and we can't shoot hog-zombies before legal sunrise, so it was a fruitless hog-zombie hunt. But valuable intelligence was gathered for the next time........

Mrs. Hotlead leading the way to the happy hunting grounds,

It looked like a good place to post up, untill Mrs. Hotlead was attacked by a couple Wasp-zombies,

The previous days scouting is fresh and camp is struck, I'm ready to get porky, and put him out of his misery,

Working our way up into the post at the East end of the little valley where the hog-zombies were reported,

Posted Image

I'm leading the way along a heavily used game trail after a disappointing morning, but I wanna check out another spot a few ridges away on the way out and look for more hog-zombie sign,

Posted Image

The results of zombie poachers. A deer killed just in our property about four months ago, the rest of it was found about 30yds away,

As you can see, I'm humping an SAI standard and Mrs. Hotlead a SAI bush rifle, we're both carrying 1911s and KaBars. The first two rounds in our pistols are snakeshot for any snake-zombies we happen upon. I swap mine for a mag full of hardball if i have to crawl in after a hog-zombie that gets into the bush.

Like I said earlier, we( the royal "WE", as in me) packed light. Just hammocks, poncho-liners, an extra skivvy set, socks, four meals, camel-back, 2 canteens with cups, a little extra ammo, an E-tool, and woods basics.

So here we are, as geared up for fighting zombies as you'll likely see us on the internet, add LBVs and 20rd mags and we'd be set for fightin' zombies.
