Well since there is no way it could be a drunk or goofy relative or friend they would take the big dirt nap.
Break in my front door and you get slowed by the dogs, then the real "barking" starts.

I would scoop up my bed sheets and blankets and use them to push him away as I ran to the bathroom. Once inside, and with the door locked, I would take off the toilet lid to use as a bludgeoning tool. Then I would try opening the door enough so that he would, hopefully stick his head inside so I could take him out.

Well, if I didn't know it was a zombie he probably would bite me, and then I would only have one thing to do... Bite him back..

Assuming I knew it was a zombie, I would run to my pantry and get out the mag lite to beat the zed down to the ground. I'de then proceed to get the 870 and try and make it outside to the workshop to get some shells for it. I'de then proceed inside find the family (considering Dad isn't home yet) and wait/prepare for more.

Bladehunter, you do know that stabbing something in the eye doesn't really destroy the brain like in the movies... right?

Hmm, good point. I'll just have to chop it's head off then, Or I'll keep hacking at it's head till it stops moving..Either way It's the only option I have till I get to my 30-6.

If it happened at night while I was sleeping, I'd probably be scooping up my bed sheets and blankets too...

like right now right now?

hrm...no weapons within arms reach. i'd probably shove it out the door (if it's a slow one) and go get a couple of guns and my cold steel magnum kukri.

if it is a rager? hrm...still...try to get it out the door. if that didn't work, try to tackle it down and keep from being bitten while my wife got a weapon.

man...i can't wait to get my full bug out set up finished. i will include many pictures when i am done.

If I was here at school, like I am now, my first hour would be spent getting from school to my house.

I'd cut through the back of the school, across this field that's back there, and go to my friend marks house. He's got guns up the ass, i could be there in 5 minutes, guarenteed

If in the master bedroom: Baseball bat or dresser drawer.

Hallway: HVAC door (it's three feet long, metal and can be pulled off)

Either bathroom: Toiled tank lid. If there's water in the tub, push him/her in and drop in a hairdryer or lamp (plugged in).

Kitchen: Large knives to the skull, crab mallet, scisors, table leg, just push the fridge on top of the zed, oven door (detatches for easy cleaning) baseball bat, summer sausage (?)

Daughter's room: Fisher price easy steps piano, boppy seat(ironic name), changing table, stroller, dresser drawer, three foot monkey to temporarily phase it then four foot mirror to the head, toy chest (heavy but can be swung)

Shed: (the whole f***ing thing if need be) any tools, oil, gasoline, lawnmower, circular saw, baseball bat (seem to have them everywhere, don't I?) drillpress, trimmer, propane welder, tool box, air compressor with straight plug attachment (exploding zed bits everywhere ;) )

My best bet would be to get to my apartment from wherever I am. Unless I'm already in the Marines. That changes things a bit. I'd still try to get back here though, because my brother and dad would be here.

One hour? Is it one hour until everyone else knows, or one hour until someone it gets to me?

If its one hour until everyone else knows, essentially giving me a head start, I'll make the phone calls I need to make, maybe pick some people up, get gas for the car, and head west.

If its one hour until they're at my door, the only thing that will change is I won't be picking anyone up, they will need to come to me.

Edit-
Its not that I'll just runaway unprepared, it's that all my camping gear lives in my car, which is a nice head start.

it's one hour AFTER they are banging down your door. The outbreak has started, Zeds are swarming through the streets, looters run rampant, etc.

Well in that case it'll just be get in the car and go, make my calls from the road. I live close to the way out so I'll just need to hope I can get to it before everyone else blocks the way.
