Hey everybody, new to these forums but fairly knowledgable when it comes to zombie strengths, weaknesses, and strategy. Recently made a short zombie attack survival video, and am about to start working on more. Let me know what you think and if you have more tips you would like to see mentioned in future videos... this one is more about "traditional" zombies (re-animated corpses) than modern ones.

It was... brief. There's plenty of info covering stuff you missed right here on the forums (guns are noisy, blunt and edged weapons are tiresome for example), some of them have been nitpicked to absurdity. Don't really want to repost old material, but there's probably enough around here to make a couple of books. And yes most regulars here have read Max Brook's TZSG, many aren't big fans of it.

Whatever you can think of zombiewise, there's like a 90% chance that somebody here has already brought it up and it has been analyzed and discussed to undeath and back. The search function is your friend.
"Imagine"? "nothing to kill or die for"? Having nothing worth dying for, or killing for, is having nothing worth living for.

That is a true statement, and yes the video isn't exactly long which is why I intend to make more to cover gaps, go over additional information, different types of "zombies" etc.... but you have to understand that not everybody is as hardcore about zombie knowledge as the people on this website are. . . I'm certainly not and I consider myself very knowledgeable. So taking that into consideration topped with the recent newsworthy events that have taken place I felt it would be fun and interesting to make a few short videos that people would take enough interest in to watch all the way through :)

As far as people here already having thought of ideas that I may or may not bring up, I'm not looking to make a book and I've never read anything from Max Brook so I'm not really sure why that reference was made, these videos I'm making are general knowledge for the general population with a bit of entertainment value to keep it interesting. Next video I'm working on has to do with vehicle choices and modifications that would be useful or practical and going over some impractical choices as well.

Thanks for the feedback though, all tips and criticism is welcome... if I did make a video to cover all points I think it would be around the length of a normal movie :P

Not at all. This ain't meant to be discouraging. I hope you stick around the community for awhile. It just gets a bit old sometimes to kick up old topics that I've seen come and go several times already, like "where would you go?", "best weapon", "best vehicle", "fighting zombies barehanded", "what would the government do?". And the perpetual trolling favorites "M16 vs Ak47", "fast vs slow zombies", "types of zombies", "9mm vs .45", ".22LR", etc.
"Imagine"? "nothing to kill or die for"? Having nothing worth dying for, or killing for, is having nothing worth living for.

Understandable, I am new here.. though reading through every single post is a little impractical for me haha so if something is repeated (which I'm sure happens alot) its not really intended... I'm more or less just revisiting/adding a different twist by doing so in the form of these vids that I started making. I also thought being in a forum like this would help circulate my videos a bit better than just relying on random youtube searches.

The abridged version then.

Stay away from: Big cities, supermarkets, any mall, any hospital, any undeground network that you don't know, major evacuation routes, churches, any place that's not defensible (when you're settling down). Type-A me-first'ers and suspicious folk.

Avoid using: Chemicals that cause dependency (Nicotine, drugs, alchohol), heavy, expensive or difficult to use weapons, replica melee weapons, resource-intensive equipment, SUVs, firearms in uncommon calibers, incendiaries, anything non-lethal. Anything that draws a lot of attention to you.

Conserve and keep: Calm, essential resources (water, medicines, food, ammunition), fuel, batteries, people who got important or difficult to find skills. Necessary tools. A healthy level of skepticism.

General rules:

Between fight and run - Run, unless you absolutely have to fight or you can spare the resources.
Between trust and doubt - Doubt.
Between planning and improv - Plan.
Between directness and subterfuge - Subterfuge.

Don't be a hero, don't be an idiot, and don't be a massive jerk. Always double check, stay vigilant and get them in the head. And remember that it's just as likely if not more that you'll get killed by disease, other human beings or starvation/dehydration than zombies.
"Imagine"? "nothing to kill or die for"? Having nothing worth dying for, or killing for, is having nothing worth living for.

It's a good start and you have something to build on, seems like you have taken up most of the basics. Defenetly a beginners guide, but i guess most ppl don't hang around on zombie-forums... Keep it up!
And what's the name of the cartoon/manga-movie?

eatyourface,

Hello there, I strongly recommend reading "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks

Posted Image

This goes over the majority in which you need to know, the rest has to come from experience. If you ever should find yourself finding experience in these methods (because you're being attacked by Zombies), please take the time to post a message about it on this forum stating you current location so that the rest of us can avoid it at all cost.
Disclaimer: If anyone disagrees with anything I say, I am quite prepared to not only retract it, but also to deny under oath I ever said it.
