With the third season of AMC’s hit TV show The Walking Dead currently filming, and with many characters old and new locked in, I’m sure many of you are wondering to see if David Morrissey looks the part of The Governor. Well, head on down below and see for yourself.

Recently, TV Guide caught up with Robert Kirkman where they discussed David Morrissey as The Governor:

“Seeing The Walking Dead come to life on AMC has been a real thrill for me, obviously, and moving into Season 3 I’m even more excited than ever because now I feel like we’re really getting to ‘the good stuff,’” Kirkman tells TVGuide.com. “Having The Governor in the mix is going to fundamentally change the show in all kinds of awesome and exiting ways. And David Morrissey totally rocks!”

Kirkman went on to talk about how The Governor will be the same as in the comics:

“I think that he’s definitely going to be a character that people love to hate and are absolutely entertained by, but also somewhat terrified of. He’s definitely going to be a very important character and a very nuanced character. We are not going to be watering him down.”

Doesn't look a thing like the Governor. Well hopefully they make him as batshit crazy as he was in the comic.

I agree with you, DarthJoe8, Morrissey does not look the part of The Governor, but if he can deliver the qualities of the character, it doesn't really matter.

From memory the Governor in the comic wasn't so much a bad ass as he was a closet deranged lunatic. He actually had most of the people he led fooled for the most part.

I would rather follow that evil bastard NaZer DarthJoe durning the zombie apocalypse then that geek squader, of course Micky Rourke would be the ideal Govenor.

The whole point of the governor to me is that while he was a deranged lunatic, he was also able to hide it and be charismatic when he needed to fool people, so if he looked menacing from the start, this would actually make less sense.

By the way, I remember him from the comics, he wasn't a "badass", he was actually kind of a moron (read the prison attack sequence on the comics). Just a very scary one, but for what he DID and how he acted, not because of what he looked like.
"Imagine"? "nothing to kill or die for"? Having nothing worth dying for, or killing for, is having nothing worth living for.
