How Cell Phones Have Ruined Horror Movies

Cell phones have ruined horror movies. Why? Let me educate you. Given the fact that everyone and their brother's salamander have a cell phone nowadays (Even 11 year olds now) it is the go-to device in the event that everything goes to ****. Car accident happens - call someone. Bored and are trying to find your friends - call them. You take a really weird looking poop and want everyone to see it - take a picture and send it to your friends. So naturally, in the event that the normal person is involved in a situation like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes what is the first thing that they will do? Use the dame cell phone. But wait! Would that just mean that they will call the cops and everything will turn out ok? Probably. No, what sucks is the fact that the writer of the film has to establish early in the film that cell phones are rendered useless. That usually entails everyone in the group pulling out their phones and saying, "****! I don't have a signal! Do You?!?!? And then everyone in the group does and says the exact damn thing. And it does not stop there. At least 2 more times in the film characters will once again check their phones only to exclaim, "Damn Island/prison/old spooky hotel! No signal!" If you choose not to address the cell phone issue (as if no one has a cell phone at all) then the movie seems out af date and leaves the audience thinking, "Why the **** didn't they just use their cell phone? Everyone has them even 11 year olds!" ****ing cell phones.
