Default Henry survival rifle

I saw one of these at a local pawn shop. 199 new.

Air rifle, .22, everything breaks down and fits into the (floating) back chamber. Teflon-covered to resist breakdown and rust. Holds two clips in the waterproof section, as well. Plus, it looks like a Mauser broomhandle-era rifle.

Kinda cool.

my brother has one. its a pretty cool package , but not the most usefull . the barrel is decently accurate but it can be picky on what ammo it likes. the way the barrel indexes is not the most resiliant either.

I don't think I would trust an air rifle if I were in a zombie situation. What happens when you run out of CO2 canisters?

It's a 22 caliber rifle, not a pellet gun.

I used to have one of those when I was like 12 it was pretty cool but the barrel had to be screwed in REALLY tight or it would wobble. lol

It is an air rifle, but not "air" as in cartridges.

I think, for what it is, it would do in a pinch. You're also less likely to have it be seen or get it stolen in a rough situation (looters, for example, or military gun control).

what do you mean? they shoot .22lr . the same ammo that a ruger 10/22 or a marlin model 60 shoots.

Their not a bad rifle my uncle has one, but I brought in more small game with general knowledge and some snares then he did with that thing when we were camping out there. And I'm not too sure I'd like one of those at my side against a zed.

What do I mean by what? The fact that it'll do, or that it's less likely to get stolen or taken?

It'll do because a lot of people seem to think .22s are toy guns. They've got enough force, no problem. Some people just don't get that.

And it's easier to hide because it breaks down and can be hidden, buried, or otherwise put in a safe place and later assembled quickly. You could probably even hide it on your person (maybe in a backback) if need-be.

Yes a .22 is a toy rifle. Sure I could defend my house from zeds with one. Easy to line up shots through a boarded window at something standing right there and not dodging. It's not a bad survival rifle for through in the bag when your going backpacking.

But out and about in a post apocalyptic world I want something that has punch not just for zombies but for those other said survivors that are trying to take my rifle. Hide it? Hell they'll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.

I think what he meant was, what do you mean it's an "air rifle?"

I'm confused about that also. I thought it was a regular gun, since it shoots .22lr ammunition. Where's the "air" part come in?

I think thats based off the Armalite AR-7 which is in turn based off the AR-5 which was made for the US Airforce as a Pilot/Aircrew Survival Weapon.
The commercial version is semi-auomatic however.

I think you're a little misguided.

Every site I've seen describes it as an air rifle. I'm reading to figure this one out.
