How screwed are you?

Well, i have to say, if an outbreak happened here, in Rockingham, Australia, i would be pretty dam screwed. no guns, no shelter worthy of holding back zed hordes, and only 1 shopping centre. (small, 1 level.) At best, i think i may be able to unite myself with friends and or family, but then we would all get ripped apart by angry angry zeds. so angry.....so neway how bout u?

I live in the center of the city. My house has large windows with no escape route or fire exit. Yeah, I would be screwed in a zombie outbreak...

I live in Fairfax County, VA -- an exurb of Washington DC with 1.1 million people living the 2 car family lives and live in super-sized housing developments. 15 minutes into the panic and my roads will be clogged with wrecks and the densely populated neighborhoods tearing themselves apart.

I have a couple of ideas, but my environment doesn't make it easy for me.

Well, I do own some weapons and have some ammunition for all of them. I also generally have food and can quickly bottle water. I have other survival supplies as well.

Unfortunately, I live in a major metropolis that is difficult to get around in on a good day. That being said, I'd probably have to escape on foot.

As for my house, only a couple of the windows could be accessed from the ground outside the house.

There are plenty of shopping areas around. They're shared with quite a few other people though.

me i live in the projects so everyone around me got guns and all hard ass people. so i think once it happens those people will go out and start trying to fight them all. that would give me enough time to pack up and get the **** out of there

My apartment is pretty dam secure. It is a small hi rise located in downtown with only one suite per floor. Very similar to "Omega Man." I have enough food for about 3 weeks depending on the water and gas situation. As far as weapons go I'm pretty screwed. The exit plan would be here below:

Here is the situation. Say the Zeds are below blocking the front entrance and rear parkade. Choosing A or B
A)
Heat up the deep fryer with oil to 375 and lure them out by throwing a piece of meat to the target. Pour hot oil on the bastards below. Talk a little trash. Run out the front door with my cordless drill and kitchen knife over to the nearest supply store.

B)
Take the elevator down to the parkade praying they are not down there. when the door opens. Run over to the SUV and drive over to destination.

The zombies will not be attracted by a piece of meat. They will disregard the meat and keep moving to you. Remember, Zombies only feed for human flesh.
and the hot oil wont impede them any bit. They will continue to move seeing as they only die from brain trauma and hot oil burns the skin. They feel no pain.

Elevators are never a good plan in emergency situations. I'd consider a new plan of action unless you're very secure in the working condition of your elevator.

I live in a apartment complex on the third floor (in what would be considered by my grandparents as the hood) in the downtown area. I could definitely stay up there for quite awhile and feel safe.

If I would want to leave all I would have to do is grab one of my many bludgeons and make my way to the parking lot in the back. I feel it would be unlikely that there would be many zeds in my apt complex seeing that you have to pull the door to get in.

My truck usually has at least half a tank of gas depending on my paycheck. Then I would make my way out to my uncle or grandfathers farm and stock up on guns and ammo.

If I needed to kill anyone in my family...i do it in a second. It's the end of the world who gives a . I am fairly certain I could make it out of town regardless of my location in the middle of Lincoln. I cant wait .

I live in a small town, where most of the people are old couples. If an outbreak occurred, I would be very well off. I have many survival plans, and many guns. With large calibers. Ping.

After reading this thread I looked around my home and realised I have few weapons. Last week, I just finished reading Monster Island. Have you read it?
In this book, the Zeds feed on just about anything but human flesh is there very favourite. The hot oil treatment, would make a funny scene in a zombie film. Imagine blind zombies with there skin hanging off there faces running down there neck .

There are 3 ways to get into the undergroung parkade 1st is the gate,
2nd the back door, last by the elevator. The first two options require going outside. Now, If I had a choice I might take the back door because the courtyard is gated. But to be honest I'm not sure if its key entry or not.

We live in West Haven, a city next to New Haven, in CT. It's densely populated, and like someone else mentioned, there's already people very armed as it is... mass chaos, burning cars blocking our way out... we'd be totally screwed. Totally. Unless we had plenty of advance notice of an uprising somewhere far away... and enough time to gather/plan/get out. I think about it all the time, we're in the worst possible place to be... ugh...
