If a zombie invasion occured would they be able to wield weapons

I was just wondering if zombies would be able to wield weapons like in house of the dead

I think not, but we don't know what real zombies are capable off. Are they dumb shamblers, hyperactive haters or like they were in life only dead?

well their basic motor fuctions work and they seem to be able to grip...I'm actually not too sure.

There are lots of dfferent zombie movies, they all seem to have conflicting elements in them. When I think of zombies I think of the Living Dead trilogy's version of undead, I didn't like land. Therefore I think of them having, like Cornflakes said, "basic motor functions" and as such they would be able to pick up rocks and other things like that, and use them as clubs and bludgeon's. Like the first zombie in Night of the Living Dead did.

I agree zombies probably could use weapons but if they encountered any walls they probably would just hit it

Dawn 04 and 28 days are my kind of zombies. Dumb and animal-like. Think of them as animals that didnt pass the mirror test.

I dont think zombies could hold weapons. The Zombie Survival guide tells you how zombies can't learn, which makes sense as the brain is decomposing. So technically they wouldnt be able to differenciate between the power of a gun and the power of a fist, let alone summon the mind power to aim and use a complex weapon.

They walk and eat. Thats it.

Ahh i see what you mean but i was never talking about operating firearms just axes and clubs and other things

I don't think a zombie would be able to hold anything in its hands because like you said the brain is constantly decomposing. Honestly I think their left only with an unsurmountable hunger, which drives them to such an extent that even if they had the capacity to weild a weapon, their hunger would drive them like simple drones in a bee hive and they would not even think twice about a weapon due to their hypnotizing hunger

Well I think that sure they could be able to hold like an axe or sword sure but i highly doubt they could use it effectively

Dude Im not sure but like others have said there motor functions still exist but does their brain still put 2 and 2 together evevn if it is real slow? In a weird resemblence with vampires zombies brains still have to function or how else do they move? But still the fact is that if I saw a zombie with an axe I might think twice before picking a fight with that one, unless of course i had my trusty boom stick then everything is gonna die...........again.
