Default Fouad Benhammou's RUIFLEC - THE VILLAGE OF DARKNESS (RUIFLEC - LE VILLAGE DES OMBRES)

Fouad Benhammou's Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness (Ruiflec - le village des ombres) is now in pre-production.

The screenplay for Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness was written by Lionel Olenga, in collaboration with Pascal Jaubert and Benhammou. The movie is set to star (listed order corresponds to poster order) Sara Forestier as Emma, Cyrille Thouvenin as David, Louise Monot as Lila, Pascal Rénéric as Mathias, and Nicolas Gob as Lucas.

Here's a synopsis for Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness from the MySpace official page for the movie: "A group of student friends are heading to the village of Ruiflec for the weekend. They are dispatched in two cars. All the passengers of the first vehicle disappear without any explanation at the village entrance. ¶ The others arrive and soon discover that the place is totally empty, all means of communication are dead and there is no way out. ¶ While looking for their lost friends, they will now fight to stay alive and get out of Ruiflec..."

There's an English-subtitled version of the opening scene from Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness on MySpace; the scene was shot to secure financing for the movie. Set in the fictitious village of Ruiflec (previously spelled "Ruyflec") in occupied France on August 8, 1942 (1944 in the French-subtitled version), it stars Jochen Haegele and Pierre-Marie Rochefort-Schneider as the German soldiers Klaus Froelich and Ulrich Wagner, respectively.

Those who are interested in Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness may also wish to read the thread on Juan Carlos Claver's Intruders (in Manases) / Intrusos (en Manasés).

Default Fouad Benhammou's RUIFLEC: THE VILLAGE OF SHADOWS

The English-language title of Ruiflec - le village des ombres has been changed from "Ruiflec - The Village of Darkness" to "Ruiflec: The Village of Shadows".

Here's a new synopsis for Ruiflec: The Village of Shadows from the website of the international sales agent for the movie, Films Distribution: "A group of university students is trapped in a hostile and isolated village, forced to relive the nightmarish experience of others before them. A true survival film."

BTW, the English-language title of Intrusos (en Manasés) has been changed from "Intruders (in Manases)" to "God's Forgotten Town".
