This film was due to be released in August. I bet that they had trouble with distributors. That has been a huge problem for Indy films for years, but it's even worse now with the current economic atmosphere. Still, I hope The Dead does release in theaters. With Zombieland and Autumn about to release in October, it seems like they could fit The Dead in there somewhere. The trailer looked pretty decent.

Autumn is being released in theatres? Or do you mean in general?

On September 12th, David Moody's MySpace page had a blog that said that it will premier in theaters at a film festival called Grimm Up North in the UK on October 30th.

He had this to say at his Facebook page:
Friday, August 28, 2009 at 7:22am

Over the course of the next few weeks and months,
people around the world are finally going to be able
to see the AUTUMN movie (and I mean the proper,
finished movie – not the poor quality, unfinished rip
that was leaked online and which has been unfairly
generating bad press around the Internet...

(It’s out in October – apologies for the unique,
market-specific update to the title!). If you’re in the
UK or Canada… please bear with me for a little longer
– more news is coming very soon.
So, I suspect a full theater release will be within a few months of the premier(s) at any film festivals. I am guessing maybe January 2010.

The Dead looks like a great movie. Alot of indy zombie movies really have been suckin it up lately. This could be very refreshing.

I agree!

This looks really great for an independent movie. The dialog seemed a bit stiff, but I loved all the other parts of the trailer. The music was also very atmospheric, and catchy.

Looking forward to see this one!!!

Wow. That looked absolutely brilliant. Sure, comparisons will be made with RE5 but meh...

Never has indy looked so damn good, I hope this gets a decent release and eventually blu-ray.

Darn. When I click on it,I see the African soldier and the sound begins but no moving picture. An ad for the 4th kind takes up a lot of space. What to do?

NEVER MIND> I found it at Dead Central!!! Very good. Looks like the best thing I have seen in awhile. First off. SLOW Zombies. Fast movers are O.K. as infected but the 'dead'? Give me time to take in the horror of the reality. This had serious atmosphere and it had Africa. Actually it would not be amiss to call it, get "Out of Africa" as fast as I you can..but that's a joke. No this looks really good. It had a touch of Zombie the Italian one but better.
