I must break The Blind Dead's streak...

So as a zombie fan I often keep my eyes and ears open for any news of a new zombie flick coming out so when I heard of this new Candian Flick some time back I was more than intrigued because at the time the only news of new and upcoming zombie flicks was all remakes and straight to video crap. Which I was told this wasn't...yeah they lied to me.

We start off with a couple, with their daughter, driving back from a two week vacation up in the mountains. They hear news of people attacking other people and decide to pull over to take shelter in a giant building off in te distance. Well as soon as you can say "zombies ate my neighbors" the shit hits the fan when a mysterious man comes along and has the husband go off to help mysterious man's family (to tell you the truth, I never bothered to learn their names) and GASP! they find his family dead, it seems his wife had been bitten the previous night and has eaten his daughter. The next scene has to be he worst mourning scene I've ever seen, and I've seen some bad ones. Then we are thrown into a ragtag group of survivors who decide to run off with the husband guy to go back to his family and hide there for the night. Oh and before I forget, Mysterious Man had gone shopping before so the surivors run off to the husband's safe house with groceries in tow.

Of course the group is attacked by zombies and only half of them make it back to the husband's safe house. Which, five seconds before they got there, was under attack by a large group of zombies and now they're gone. We are then introduced to the new group and here we have the asshole, the nice girl, the token black guy (with a Jamacian accent or English...not entirely sure he kind of switches between the two) and a whole other assortment of disposable characters.

What follows next is the most confusing movie I've ever seen. We have more characters introduced about halfway through it and they just keep coming and going into the movie in fact, it becomes harder to figure out who's dead and who isn't. There's even a point where I swear to you there are more living people than undead. Oh and get this, the zombies do not come out in the day time leaving it open for the living. So why don't the living just go around and kill all the undead lying about the ground? Oh I get it, because they'd rather cover them up...WHAT!?

The acting in this film, I use the term film very loosely mind you, is terrible to say the least and the effects are what you'd expect from a low budget zombie romp. Although there were some decent performances by Steve Curtis (Keith, the token black guy) and Andrea Ramolo (Amber, the nice girl). The editing is so sloppy it becomes impossible to follow the movie after a certain point and it becomes even more impossible for the viewer to care. Characters are constantly thrown in and out of our faces making things worse as it becomes impossible to figure out who's still alive by the end of the movie. And to make things more confusing, some of the characters have the same name! Now I know it's possible for people to meet with the same name but this movie was confusing enough. I just got insanely lost at just stopped caring after a certain point. I just wanted the movie to end, and thank God it did.

The DVD is barebones, with a trailer for this film and a few other upcoming features from Creep FX Studios which, by the way, don't look much more promising either.

If you're looking for a recent good low budget zombie film, please skip this one and head towards the likes of; Dead Men Walking or Dead Meat. They're much more fun and a lot easier to follow than this piece of cinematic trash was.

* out of ***** (And I only give it that just due to the fact the zombies do look good)

If there are more People then Zombies they should have called it People Night or Night Of the Living People.
Instead of the dead attacking the living this film sounds like the Living by numbers alone could attack the Dead.
