Ok, I think there's a smiliar thread on this subject out there and if there is I'm pre-apologizing and going to just go with the flow here.

Ok so here it is, in your opinion what's the best and worst sequels to our favorite zombie films? Do you consider this particular sequel to have improved or ruined the series?

My best is; Day of the Dead - although many on here are not huge fans of this film, I am. I think everything about it is near perfection; the acting, the make-up - espcially the make-up - and the atmosphere is just astonishing.

My worst is; Day of the Dead 2: Contagium - I never would consider this to be a sequel to the original DAY in any aspect but it does have the number "2" after the DOTD title so inturn it is a sequel. Though not official, a sequel non the less. This movie was so terrible, I had to sit through it twice just to make sure it was as bad as I thought it was; mind you the second time was harder than the first now knowing how bad it was. There's just nothing good about this film, at all, the acting sucked, the zombies were incredibly dumb, the make-up was a joke, the plot and set design itself was worse...if that's possible. Nothing good came from this film at all, I use the term film very loosely by the way, waste of money, waste of time - for the viewer and for the filmmakers.

And just to throw a few more sequels out there...

Dawn of the Dead (78)
Land of the Dead

Return of the Living Dead Part II
Return of the Living Dead 3
Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis
Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave

Zombi 3
Zombie 4: After Death
(I don't put "Zombie 5: Killing Birds" in this series only because it was only marketed as a sequel in the U.S. to get people to buy it. It was actually made and produced before the official sequel, "Zombi 3" and "Zombie 4".)

Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn
Army of Darkness

Bride of Re-Animator
Beyond Re-Animator

House of the Dead II
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Pet Semetary Two (Not a sequel to a zombie movie per-say but this one is indeed a zombie film)

Ok, can't think of anymore but these are just some to throw out there to get the general idea across. Now let's get the ball rolling people!!!!

Best:

Dawn of the Dead 1978 - I don't really need to say anything.

Worst:

Meat Market 2 - The first was a low budget turd an this is like topping it with diarrhea. Didn't like the first, only watched the second because... hell, I don't know.

Worst runner up:

Zombie 4 - The whole movie is full of spazzes. Watching it practically gave me an epileptic seizure.

I'm assuming you mean 'Land of the Dead'? It wasn't as bad as I think people say it is, certainly not his best work but not his worst. The 'Meat Market" series was pure trash to begin with...

I liked the Re-animator series, Hated ROTLD parts 3,4,5. I could live with 2. I think 28 weeks later if/when ?? its gets made will be a slap in the face to anyone who liked 28 days later. Are they going have:poo: brittiny spears:poo: , and other bubble gum music, or whatever flavor of the month rap singer on the soundtrack? I hate holly $$$ wood sometimes.

Well the original 28 Days Later didn't have any high rising pop stars or anything like that on the soundtrack. The music on the soundtrack really fit the movie and the music in that movie helped it a great deal, it set the emotions and the fear I don't think they'd risk that chemistry by putting anything commercial in the sequel.

I haven't read up on it at all, but is there reason to assume the soundtrack would be so different? my wish is that they keep it very very similar to 28 Days Later. it's one of the best soundtracks I've heard. i'm looking forward to 28 Weeks Later.

To me it's probably Return Of The Living Dead Part II for worst sequel. Words cannot describe how much I hate this film.

Bring me the head of Ken Wiederhorn.

i didnt mind return of the living dead 2. i hated 4 and 5. although rave from the grave was soo bad that i liked it after i had like 12 beers and two Z's.
the best sequel would be Dawn of the Dead or Evil Dead 2
i only say Evil Dead as it was more of a sequel.
the worst. i hated Zombie 3. it was disapointing. Although how bad was day of the dead 2 although i cant claim this as a seqel because it has nothing to do with the original and all it wanted to do was slap the same name as a romero film on it to make some money. they wiped romoeros name through shit with this film. a box of shit is still a box of shit and day of the dead 2 is a box of shit.
