I just bought Land of the Dead on DVD, although I knew it's a poor movie I just wanted to have it in my zombie collection. I was watching the special features and I must say, does George Romero actually know how many people are disgusted with this movie? George and his cast of pathetic actors, habitually claim how great this movie is on this DVD they continuously preach how much of a genius Romero is for producing this pile of shit.
I was sitting their is total disbelief, and I was thinking..."Have you even watched what you have produced here?" When George was on the set drinking copious amounts of coffee and smoking endless amounts of cigarettes, I thought...."Maybe all that cocaine you have obviously been snorting has got to your brain old chap?" Romero and his cast actually believe Land is a masterpiece!
Ahhh...it's been a few weeks since the last thread like this was closed. I give it a four to five hour life span.

You might as well have just said,"I once put my hand in a alligators mouth, even though I knew it would bite." And then complain when it bites you.
There is nothing accomplished by that post.

Back when I was writing short screenplays I passed around one that I believed to be my greatest yet. People disliked it. Another time I passed around one that I thought was very sub-par, but people like it. Weird, huh? Romero made his movie the way he wanted just like with Night, Dawn, and Day. Of course, the actors put many months of their time and hard work into the film as well. Consisdering all of this, it is easy to see how they all liked the film and why they believed it to be great.
I now open myself up for grade school level slander and ridicule.

That's the spirit! Anyone that dislikes your work must be a childish no-nothing! What a cultural hell pit we have dug ourselves into when so many genius artiste are FORCED to wallow in minimum wage squallor.
That wasn't slander, by the way, more hyperbole and assumption than anything.
Romero was great for his time. Maybe he was two dimensional, but he broke so many molds and many independent and talented filmakers credit him for inspiration. Sadly, I don't feel his vision works very well for our times and it appears shlocky at best. I know many people liked LoTD, but a lot of people liked Brokeback Mountain, and I did not. There isn't really a good way to measure who will like what, so I guess it's better to get shot down for sucking than never trying.

Hey, I just got a free hotdog, so who am I to complain?
What do you put on your hotdog?
Spot on Book! I make it 5 hours.
There is already a Land of the Dead thread where you can continue this. Use the search feature, I am fed with babysitting people.
