I just read this at Fango. Anchor Bay is bringing Cemetary Man (Dellamorte Dellamore) to dvd in the US. It's bound to be packed with extras as most AB releases are. I can't wait. Here's a link to the article

Nice. It seems that Cemetery Man is a good flick. I'll look forward to it's release. I never could find a copy at a decent price...that's ok, Anchor Bay will give us some extras hopefully worth the wait.

It's been on our "multi-cultural" tv channel many times. It's bloody great. Very bizarre Euro sense of humour & style, but a great time had by all.

That's great news. I really liked that movie. It's wierd and artsy at times, but is a lot of fun to watch.

That kicks zombie ass! I have the R2 dvd and the very very rare soundtrack (which kicks ass). Great to hear that this will get an official R1 release.

I managed to find a few video clips of this and for about 60 seconds of movie I want to grab this now! Here I was looking all over eBay and all they were selling were hacks, bootlegs. LD transfers... now all I really have to do is wait a few months for the official US release. Kick ass!!
C'mon, the dude blew away four zombie boy-scouts, head shots included. That rocked.

i can't wait either. may just be my favorite zombie movie, and it definitely ranks among my top all time movies for being consistently good from beginning to end. so many movies (all genres) have bad endings. why do so many film makers have trouble wrapping things up?
if you really want to see it sooner, you should be able to find it on vhs. i actually have it coming interlibrary any day now cuz i haven't seen it in years.

I tried to wait for September but couldn't considering its one of my most favorite zombie movies. I bought it a bootleg on ebay that plays all region. It has the same quality as dvd since it has already been released in Europe. And it was cheap too!

Not at all... Region 2 discs are just as good as any DVD discs... It has nothing to do with format, or the quality... It's just a restriction placed on the discs, so that North American DVD players can not decode (play) them... You just need DVD player/Computer that can play region 2 discs.

I have a purchased copy still in the shrinkwrap hahaha! I also snagged a copy I rented years ago from a local vid shop that was shutting down by me. Little did I know they were being bought out by Hollywood Video...I believe I owe them $65 for Cemetary Man.

hehe, remember when vhs movies were being sold for like $79 and $99 and blank vhs tapes were sold individually wrapped only (cuz who on earth would think of springing for a 10-pack) at $15.99 each!?! seems so long ago.

It's a shame they used a quote like that though. I'm afraid a shitload of dumbasses are going to be whining about how "unfunny" and what a "shitty comedy" it was.
I never really looked at it as funny. Quirky & ecentric perhaps but not "frighteningly funny".

have to agree. the cover doesn't do much for me either, especially with that stupid quote. there are certainly plenty of moments that make me laugh, but it's not a comedy at all. it's just so friggin surreal and the absurdity is what i laugh at.

Now that this film will finally see DVD release in June I figured this should receive a brand freakin' new thread dedicated to opinions and general yammer about the film, actors and FX. (My apoplogies to the Mods if they feel this should be merged with the upcoming DVD release thread)
I received the DVD from Anchor Bay and aside from a few minor gripes, I thought it was a wonderful release.
Anybody out there count this as a favorite? What did you like or dislike about the film.

one of my all time fave movies. i love the "plot turns" which so wonderfully reproduce the feeling of living a dream, moving from one dream sequence right into the next. i love the recurring "she" character...and it don't hurt that anna falci is a living dream...hubba hubba ;-) there is so much i love about this film. it also has a fantastic ending. sooo many other movies lack a satisfying ending.
i'm a little disappointed to hear the dvd lacks a bit in the extras dept., but i'll buy it anyway.

I completely agree. It's an amazingly cool film. I still don't get "Frighteningly funny" from this film as the blurb on the front says but I know it's already secured its niche.
BTW, Falchi is incredibly hot.

I agree... I have often thought that we should have a separate sub-forum in the Classic & Non-Classic 'Z' films to discuss the DVDs of different films (DVD aspects, extras, commentaries, ect), and use the main 'Classic' forum to talk about the films themselves.

One of my friends can't stop talking about this movie, says it was genre-changing in his opinion... will have to hit him up for why... then again, he ADORES zombie flicks! :) So he could just be saying this is the best in his oh so humble opinion. :)
Not being much of a zombie fan I am curious to see one that so many people think so highly of... nothin' beats starting my viewing at the top of the top! :)

I saw this movie semi recently. It's an Italian flick about a grave digger, and his mentally challenged buddy. Every time they bury someone, the corpse comes back to life after a said period of time, and they have to re-kill the corspe.
This is a comedy zombie flick, worth seeing when you want to take a break from the serious run-for-your-life, save yourself, don't-get-their-blood-in-your-eyes type movies, and it's funny to boot!
