Anyone seen it? I've read some reviews and it seems intresting. Is it more of a horror-comedy? (Like ROTLD or dead alive)

I love it. It used to be one of my favorite horror films from the 80's. As to whether it was a horror comedy or not...well...yes and no.

This is truly one of the classic zombie films to come out of the 80's. The bootleg DVD that's floating around isn't too bad depending on who you get it from, I got mine off of eBay from a guy whole lives in the U.K. and it was the best copy of it I've seen. I had a friend who got it at a convo in NJ and his was okay, the quality was a little fuzzy but watchable. Definetely seek this one out, you won't regret it.

I'll try to find this one, if it's as good as you say, it's sad that it hasn't made it to DVD. Maybe Anchor bay could buy the rights to it. They've given a lot of "forgotten" zombie movies great releases.

Tom Atkins rocks.

Unfortunately, no. There's no plans to release Dekker's Night of the Creeps or Monster Squad which is why many large horror sites are getting people together to write snail mail to the companies that own the rights. Petitions don't work with these larger companies.

I saw it. it is a lot like slither. Slither seems to be almost a remake but night of the creeps is better! I have not seen it since the 80's but I beleve it was a little commical as well as scary.

I loved that flick...
Something about the scene where the cops pull to a stop, and the axe weilding zombie killer is shambling in the background, cops completely oblivious to it's being there, was spooky back in the day...

I used to answer the phone and say "thrill me" because of this film. Of course, it sounded stupid when I did it, but it is a great line.

NOTC flirts with Horror comedy classification (which I love) but it still delivers more bite than your typical horror comedy (so I totally agree with you).
This movie is one of my favorites. I hate that there are no plans to release it on DVD (fortunately it's always on Scream Network).
Unfortunately, no. There's no plans to release Dekker's Night of the Creeps or Monster Squad
Actually there are plans for Lionsgate to release Monster Squad in 07(Although I'm sure you (TBD) know that....just an old thread). No word on Night of the Creeps(yet). Here's a link to a Fangoria article on the release of Monster Squad http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=3742
As for Night I love this movie so much. From the opening sequences on the Alien ship (love those alien subtitles) to black and white 50's, to the electric puffy haired 80's. I love all of the main characters (Tom Atkins Rules)but it's the attention to detail and the supporting roles that set movie apart. Supporting roles like (Bubba) Allan Kayser as Brad or Robert Kino as the janitor (Mr. Minor.....'Screaming rike Banshees').
When I was in High school I FANasized (which is similar to fantasizing)that my High school prom would play out the same way (You know you and your prom date killing yuppie formally dressed zombies) I just hope this movie gets a DVD release so I don't have to watch it with all the commercial interruptions.

When James Gunn was asked "Is Slither a remake of NOTC?" he had this to say
No. There are a lot of similarities, to be sure, but I never saw the film until after I was done shooting SLiTHER. However, Fred Dekker and I were both influenced by many of the same works -- SHIVERS, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and THE BLOB in particular.
So if you're an ambitious young screen writer don't be like James and make a movie which is a near duplicate of a classic (accidentally). Watch the classics. Appropriate what you will but be informed. Just for the record I think they're both good movies. Obviously I prefer NOTC but I like most of the stuff James Gunn does (minus the his involvement in SCOOBYDOO 1, 2 & a rumoured 3rd movie....not that I've actually seen any of them....so for all I know they're Amazing)

Love this flick to no end. It's basically the very definition of the metaphor, "and the kitchen sink". I mean its got everything a horror fan has on thier checklist. Zombies. Aliens. Braineating slugs. Comedy. Axe-Murderers. Tom Atkins. 80's music and fashions. Exploding heads. And so on...:drinking:
Hopefully, this fan favorite classic will get the proper treatment it deserves when it finally gets on DVD. And top it off I'd hope whoever puts this fine foootnote in horror history on DVD has both the theatrical and broadcast versions of this flick on the disc.

Loved Night Of The Creeps. You are right they don't make'm like this anymore.
(Warning some spoilers lay with in this message)
I remember My Mom, my brother and me watching as the girl sat in the car and listened to the radio. It radio kept saying information about the escaped loon like he was on the road she was on. Then you see him sneaking up behind her and then wham with the axe. It doesnt seem as scary now, but back in the day it sent my mom flying for the kitchen ha ha. Oh the memories. Hope they do decide to release it sometime soon, its a classic. Oh ya and the loon breaking though the floor, The cop saying to the sorority girls and I quote "Well ladies your dates are here, the bad news is their dead. Corny but funny.:)

Classic film, and like many others here I grabbed my copy off ebay.
Brilliant mix of horror and humour, and hands down one of the campy classics.

I love all the horror i refferences that Dekker has in the movie. Alot of the characters are named after directors, Det. Ray Cameron, Sgt Raimi, James Carpenter Hooper, Christopher Romero and Det. Landis. The univeristy that J.C. and Chris go to school at is called Corman Univeristy. Gotta love a horror movies that are made be real horror fans.

Cool I didn't know that. I did kinda figure that who ever wrote or directed it, had a love of old horror movies because of the Black and White beginning having a look of the classic 50's horror films. You do learn something new every day.:)
