Sometimes when you are watching a zombie movie you observe an intrestion part, or a blooper in the movie that sticks in your mind. can you name some? In DOTD 78, after talking to the one leg preacher, and they find the zombies that the residents had put in the basement. Peter starts to kill them with a 38 revolver. He fired 7 shots before reloading, A revolver holds 6. (blooper)

When the zombies are attacking Ed and Joey in ROTLD II you can see that some of the tombstones they bump into are moving slightly wich means they were most likley props.
Here's something funny I noticed, when Barbara is running away from the cemetery in the NOTLD remake she's screaming "Hey! hey!" and passes a barn filled with hay. Get it? Hey and hay.

That is a conversion kit for ar-15/m-16 rifles to allow them to fire .22 rounds. The gun would be real (assuming its not a movie) with the kit installed. The bolt and carrier could be replaced ,and a modified 20 rd ar/m16 mag installed that allowed a 22 mag to slide up thru the middle. Thats all that is required. Was originally for cheaper training for the military (22 is cheaper than .223) and easier for soldiers to practice with. Some police depts DID use this mod because they were worried about over penetration in cities. However I don't think a SWAT guy would be using the mod given the situation.
I spoke to the weapons coordinator from Dawn and he said they used it for economical reasons.

Yep thats very true, Ive heard of the magazine conversion setup , never seen it, indoor range qualification for rifle. forgot al about it. But I had the AR-15 looking 22, bought it off my brother, he bought it in the 1970s. I dont remember the manufactor of it.

Note, too, that 1978 DOTD Peter always fired his 'M-16' semi-auto (since it was really a .22) except when those dead kids burst out of the closet. There he fired it on 'full-auto' - really just sound effects added, since they didn't show the gun's muzzle flash in that shot.
In the same movie the SWAT guys kill a plaid-shirted zombie in the parking lot, but this guy had been destroyed preciously.

Great thread!
I was just sitting here listening to Madonna while drinking beer and searching for some great noise band called Iszoloscope when I thought of Day of the Dead.
Particularily, Sarah's dream in the opening scene. It's such a brilliant allegory of what it's like to live in the apocolypse. Trapped in a small space; an empty prison. Except for a calendar to track the passage of time? The only connection to the old world . The image of the pumpkin harvest has a profound effect on her. She loves the memory. As she reaches to touch it, the wall erupts with the arms of the undead. The world is theirs now.
I think it is such a great way to describe the context of the film.

Ok, here's a good one I actually showed this to Mr. Romero himself at the Rock N Shock convention on my portable DVD player and he loved it. When the zombies are moving in to get Steele after he shoots the door open, keep your eye to the left of the screen to see the soldier zombie fix his helmet as it almost falls off his head.
Also in The Return of the Living Dead, just before the Tarman sinks his teeth into Suicide and yells "Brains", you can see the actor's real teeth underneath Tarman's.
Another one is from Night of the Living Dead 90', when Barbara is reloading the rifle after she shoots the 2 zombies that tried to break in you can see Ben boarding up a window with a door across it diagonally. In the next scene Ben is putting up that same door and just now nailing it in. Also from NOTD 90' is when Ben is fighting with the pantry zombie you can see the crew in the glass as he's trying to shove the zombie back outside.

I can't believe people actually look for bloopers in zombie movies. I guess I'm always just too into the movie to sit there and count how many times a 7-shot revolver was fired or whether a member of a SWAT team is using a military issued M-16 or a civilian issued AR-15. If you've watched a movie so many times that you've become so bored with it to notice all these bloopers maybe you should refrain from watching that movie for a couple years.

Gnash, that's not the case. Yes, some people can be a little... over the top with their observations. But that doesn't mean that they're bored, on the conterary (sp?), it's their way to show their love for that movie. Although I'm the same as you, I never look for bloopers. I just watch the movie and enjoy it.

Boy, you know Yanks are around. You guys sound like you love your little guns. I know its in your constitution to bare (bear?) arms, but bloody hell. hahahahahaha.
I like the blooper in Dawn 78 when the rednecks shoot at the zombies (one with the hat on). 1 of the zombies falls BEFORE the gun is fired.
As far as i am concerned, ROTLD 2 is one complete blooper.
Though not really a blooper, i love it in Fulci's Zombi, that in the middle of a zombie holocaust, a chick deems it necessary to go for a little dive. And, topless at that!

Its not that we love our little guns,We love our big guns. Its not that we sit there and count 6 or 7 rounds from a revolver, a lot of us have fire revolvers. Its like the movie Dirty Harry movie, "Did I fire 5, or did I FIRE 6." Its the natural instinct for survival that kicks in. You get into the movie, its just part of the fun of watching movies, you role play a little. all in good fun, TILL ZOMBIES REALLY HAPPEN!!!!! then will you be.

June 24th is around the corner, one year since Land's release.
A few more wrinkles on the top of Big Daddy's bald head would have been nice; I'm not sure how that works on a corpse though, but I'd imagine more wrinkles looks better...
An observation from Day of the Dead is when the zombies are getting off the large elevator at the end, many of them are wearing zombie masks up front, according to Romero's commentary. I didn't notice till he mentioned it.
Also, when the zombies are passing the camera after Steel runs into the bullet holed door, one of the zombies passing the camera grabs at the golf cart towards the camera, most likely an attempt by the actor to recognize himself in the movie, since it seemed out of place for a zombie to grab at a golf cart when there's fresh meat getting away...

That seems rather dumb of an idea to leave it open like that. Like you said, how is the audience to know that it is that high of a window.
But this doesn't make sense because the window, where the zombies first break in (Ben shoots the 1 in the head and Tom hacks his fingers off), seemed about 5 feet from the ground as well, but it was boarded up. I could be wrong though. I haven't seen the movie in awhile.

I'll have to look for the car driving in the opening city shot of Day of the Dead.
_____________
Here's an observation watching Stephen King's 'Desperation' on abc tonight, 5/23/2006, relating to zombies... (though a bit out of place on this thread, since it's not a zombie film).
A scene where a lady is in the car being attacked by a zombie-like human, who is banging at her window, then picks up and heavy rock and starts banging the glass till it shatters, then grabs at the lady in the car till she pulls away. Then the arm rips off and she tosses it out.
That scene was more than likely inspired by Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Oh yeah, and the father who turns into a zombie in Dawn of the Dead 2004 was in it. That Wings guy from the TV series 'The Shining' was also in it.

Later on after the group has finished boarding up the window, a zombie hear's the radio dispatcher asking the paramedics to respond, he climbs in and utters the famous line, "Send More Paramedics..."
