Not a zombie movie... IMO anyway. Just bodies being controlled by black moss shit.

Errr... Isn't that always the case with old school zombies? Corpses or people being controled by someone or something?

There are certainly zombies in it. There is an article on the movie in Fangoria #252. I'll be watching it

So, what did everyone think about it? I just watched it and in my opinion, I thought it was average, not too great. I didn't like the ending that much. 6/10.

By the way, did anyone recognize Dan Byrd from The Hills Have Eyes '06?

I'm hoping it'll be better uncut when it's released this coming 11th.

eek.. The only things that I liked about this movie was Dan Bryds performance and the eye candy from the main girl and the 2 other bitchy ones.

It was ok, they should ahve left out the lame mutant sub plot and just had the black mold shit be the main bad guy. Make up a story about how the bodies have rotted away and mutated with some fungi which casues reanimation.. or something like that. I'll probably be picking it up hoping what The blind dead is hoping for, a better uncut release.

I thought it was ok. Quite good fun but the editing on Sci-fi was annoying as hell

Yeah, that movie sucked...

After RotLD 4 & 5, All Saints Day, House of the Dead 2 and now Mortuary, Sci-Fi has (in my opinion) about a 30% batting rate for making watchable (note, not neccessarily good) zombie flicks (that 30% being All Saints Day and House of the Dead 2)...

I LOVED the one with the bright red hair that got killed in the crypt! The girl from the diner was hot as well, but she needed to cut her hair off short. Other than that, I thought it was a pretty decent flick, though it could've used more time in the house being trapped by the zombies outside. Shitty ending.

Too many plot holes and waitaminute moments for me. An unrated DVD will probably only add back the cursing and boobies, but nothing in the way of the plot making more sense.

I just watched it and really enjoyed it. Not your typical zombies, but that's part of what made it fun.

Yeah!
I was really shocked when I read through this thread. I felt like it wasn't getting the credit it deserved.
Yes there was a little bit of crappy cgi but not enough to ruin the film for me.
No it wasn't some deep David Lynch, twist your mind plot, but it did have a creep factor that couldn't be ignored.
The zombie makeup was great! (I could have done with more of 'em as well)
I liked the ending....
It seemes that most horror movies end with at least one survivor.
It's a horror movie, we don't need a survivor.
So when the underground funk monster reached up and grabbed 'em after we thought it was over, I was like "Hell Yeah!".

Bonus: It has a H.P. Lovecraft quote in it! :skull:

Eh, some parts were enjoyable, but overall I thought the movie was a failure.
Tobe Hopper needs new ideas. He's done dinner scenes before.. TCM, anyone?
