Its early days but the script has been bought by Asylum (who are releasing a lot of zombie stuff):
July 15: Watt’s DEAD MEN WALKING into the Asylum Filmmaker Mike Watt of Happy Cloud Pictures (http://www.happycloudpictures.com/) gave Fango the news that he has sold his zombie script DEAD MEN WALKING to the Asylum (http://www.theasylum.cc/) production and distribution company, which plans to get rolling on it soon. The movie is set in a maximum-security prison where a virus outbreak turns all those infected into the flesheating undead. “They’re somewhere between the zombies in the remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD and those affected by the disease in 28 DAYS LATER,” says Watt, who recently completed his own long-in-the-works walking-dead opus THE RESURRECTION GAME (see item here (http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=4111)). “The idea was to write a story where the virus and those affected are completely contained, but the stress comes from the fact that the heroes are trapped inside with the zombies as well. Once you’re inside this prison, there’s really no way of getting out safely.
“I’ve written scripts for hire in the past,” he continues, “but the projects always fell through before preproduction had even ended. This is the first script I’ve ever sold that is actually going into production—and in this case, they are [shooting] within a month of accepting the final draft!”
The movie will be produced by the Asylum’s David Michael Latt, who also helmed the company’s just-released H.G. WELLS’ WAR OF THE WORLDS. A director has yet to be announced, but you can keep up with the project at Watt’s blog on the project here (http://walkingdeadmen.blogspot.com/). —Michael Gingold

Those pics do look pretty sweet. I shall have to check this one out.
Hmm, I can only find one site (http://www.sendmemovies.com/ps-60729-71-dead-men-walking-2005-dvd.aspx) that sells the dvd (kinda expensive too) and nothing on ebay... that kinda sucks...

Pictures look decent enough, now just to wait for a few ATZ opinions. Or, if it shows up cheap enough somewhere, I'll just grab it.

Just watched it myself and thought it was excellent. Great make-up, mostly excellent acting, a hot chick and some nice gore sequences.
Zombies are more 28 days later than the normal shuffling corpses, but that isn't such a bad thing.
Highly recommended.

The gore was decent, you get a gratuitous breast shot and the zombies DO resembles the ragers from 28 Days. They had a very 'infected' Ebola appearance.

I just saw this movie, and give it props! Much better than I thought it would be. The zombies looked good, and what was lacking in story was almost entirely made up for with good gore.

"Zombies in prison" is starting to become something of a sub-genre. Anyway, this is the best one. It had all the things I look for in a low budget zombie film.

Ha! "Zombies in Prison". Nice. If we wait for another 5 or 6 we can officially strike up our own sub-genre website. lol

I actually couldn't find this in any stores so I had to order it from amazon and wait 2 weeks. But let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Some of the actimg was kind of hammy but whatever, it's a hell of a lot better than what has been coming out recently...give or take a few.

I saw this on Sci-fi, and it was superb! Kinda pointless, because the girl got shot at the end, but . . . hey, right? Gore and zombie effects count more, am I right?

Thanks!! Should I still go out and get this movie now?
Oh, sweet. Better effects, or what?
No commercials for a start. I also imagine that any language and the brief amount of nudity was cut from the Sci-Fi showing.
Thanks!! Should I still go out and get this movie now?
I would JS, even if numbnuts did try and spoil it for you.
because the girl got shot at the end
Use a spoiler in future, especially when referring to the end of a movie
