Has anyone picked this up? The first issue is pretty good. It's a really quick read. The art is pretty sick too.

I read a friends copy today. The artwork is unique, and the story looks like a good, end of the world zombie scenario. Plus there's some sex.
However, I read the whole book in about a minute and a half. Not exactly a great literary value for the $3.
I agree. Not bad, but the The Walking Dead from Image makes it look pretty tame in comparison.

I have the first three and I read somewhere that Remains is a five issue mini-series. I think it's a great exploration of a unique twist on the 'zombie-phenomenon'. I'm going to wait until the series is resolved be for I decide how good it was.
That illustrator has several pages in issue one where everything is smooth and tight; more graphic. But after the 'great collapse' the style is gritty and scatalogical, almost like it's drawn with entrails. I think it's, again, a great exploration.

Loved it but I do agree...it was a tad short. I haven't read "The Walking Dead" yet but I'm always open to solid zombie stories short or not.
Issue four came out last Wednesday. I like the idea of the zombies evolving, but with two issues left....I doubt a whole lot more can be included. I started off not liking this series a lot at first, but it's growing on me. However, the 3.99 price tag will more than likely make me NOT buy a follow up series.

I finished the Remanins series today (5 issues)- and was disappointed.
I am surprized Steven Niles wrote it. I've read alot of his work, and I guess to a certain degree he is inconsistent. In the sense that some works are great while others have poor character development. AListair Arcane was really good, as was Dark Days. Return To Barrow and Remains just isn't 'there'.
Spend your dollars on something else!

I didn't really like this series, mainly because the two main characters were not very likeable. Both were distasteful and earned no sympaty for their situation. And the waitress girl (can't remember her name) would have gotten pitched over the wall a LOOOONG time ago. What a skanky, nasty pile of trash she was. :puke:
About the only thing I found entertaining was the creative use of American Gladiator equipment.
I found the series to be a waste of time. :x
