I'd have to say as a whole- RE remake then RE3. Love both those game because they scared the heck out of me. Silent Hill had some good parts as well.

For a zombie game? Siren creeped me out the most. Limited ammo, running and slamming doors so monsters can't get you, hiding, watching the movments of your enemies hoping they don't see you. Almost too much survival horror as vital items don't 'sparkle' and if you miss it, you have to play the whole scenario over.

Very, very creepy game. I love listening to the zombies mumble to themselves and the raspy breathing.

Well at the time I thought RE was the scariest.

Then 2, 3 and so on.

Silent Hill, 2 and 3 uped the game a bit and brought it to a differnet level, less viceral and more cereberal.

Fatal Frame had some good scares.

Eternal Darkness I hear does too.

RE 4 had scares and what not, but it wasn't a scary game.

Oh, how could I forget. The orginal Blair Witch gmaes were creepy upon seeing the movie. In fact I didn't want to play them cause they messed with me too much. So much audio stuff.

Silent Hill 2, but I think that's just because I played it in a basement... with the lights off, on a big tv, with the surroundsound on. He he it's an enjoyable way to play ^^.

I've been looking to pick up Siren actually I just haven't gotten to it yet. Lazyness.

I'm going to pretty much agree with The Creeper here... almost word for word :)

Blair Witch: Rustin Parr was good but the sequels were just so-so.

The Silent Hills are awesome but they aren't really zombie games, are they? Silent Hill 2 was the only one I played several times through and still didn't understand the story at all. I had to look up a plot analysis, after reading it I thought "Wow, now it all makes sense... that's deep." The other Silent Hills are cut and dry and you'll catch on right away.

Did nobody like Silent Hill 4? I thought it was pretty creepy, although those damn ghosts... :x I thought it was cool looking through the peep hole to see someone staring back or talking about you.

The only time Resident Evil games really scared me was when those monsters came out of nowhere that could kill you with one hit.

the silent hill games are great when it comes to scareing you, but they arent really zombie game, I'd have to say the REmake has been the scariest so far. :scare:

The Resident Evil series had jumps in abundance but wasn't really scary as such, whereas the Silent Hill series got right under the skin. A very creepy set of games. Also Siren (or Forbidden Siren as it's known in the UK) was pretty creepy, but it got let down by the horendous voice acting.

clock tower 3 because you dont have any weapons! I mean ok u have this holy water stuff that you can through at ghosts but you play as this really weak girl who cannot fight back and throughout the game you have to run and hide. And the ghosts are freakin scary as hell and arent afraid to hack up sweet little girls into tiny little bits. Scary!

I'd have to say the first Silent Hill as well as pretty much every Resident Evil game. Doom 3 is also pretty damn scary, having to use the flashlight then cycle to your gun. Eerie sound effects are clutch in creating an ominous gaming environ.

yeah i totally agree. Hell, I was even scared of the lightening in resident evil. And in doom when you go into a room and it all of sudden turns red and the gravity shuts off and you hear voices. Plus right b4 you go to hell and you have to go down that hallway with all the blood on the walls and the guys with crazy chainsaws...SCARY

Although not a zombie game, I'd have to say Super Return of the Jedi for the SNES scared me the most. I don't understand why they designed the game the way they did....

Well, while I didn't understand the purpose of giving the people of a Japanese town English accents I really wished they would have had the option of original Japanese dialog with subtitles (like in Onimusha). If you listen to the Shibito I think (but I'm probably wrong) that they are mumbling in Japanese, it's awesome. But nothing compares to the utterly terrible voice acting of the very first Resident Evil. It was so unbearable but the game itself redeemed it. Siren was no where near as crappy as RE1 for the voice acting.

"Here, you take this. You're the master of unlocking."

I remember that being the game's biggest complaint before it was released. That, and the silly FMV intro with the hand-puppet zombie dog.

The Resident Evil remake is definitely my favorite zombie game. The atmosphere is what makes it so scary! Well, Lisa Trevor and crimson heads too!

Great stuff. The only game that i have bought twice. I had to pick up the Directors cut with the extra scenario. A truly creepy game :scare:

I'm going to third that... IT was a fantastic storyline as well... and Mr Pyramid head ****ing that zombie nurse while you're hiding in the closet has to be one of the most harrowing and truly unnerving scenes EVER in a game.. :scare:

I agree with all who said that Silent Hill 2 was a horrifying game. It's probably the scariest game I've ever played... and yes, the scene with Pyramid Head and the body bag things was pretty shocking.

As for games with zombies in it that are scary...

The RE remake is pretty damn frightening. I wondered why some of the zombie corpses didn't disappear when I played through it my first time, and when they got up and started dashing at me I really freaked out. That was an awesome touch that they added.

Also, Alone in the Dark 4(I think that's the one) had some pretty creepy zombies in it... I remember a dark room that I was in and some lightning flashed in the window, revealing several zombies standing around me... that made me jump pretty good.

And of course you have to mention Doom 3. The lighting effects and the sound made that game agonizingly tense and suspenseful. I loved the way the shadows danced across the zombies and demons as they moved towards you... priceless.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 were pretty frightening as well. That big trenchcoat Tyrant that stalked you in the second scenario of RE2 and Nemesis in RE3 were very frightening... at times it just seemed like you couldn't get away from them... especially when you were low on ammo. Really intense. I think that Resident Evil 2 will always be my favorite RE game... I think they should remake that one, too. It was awesome. The double scenario thing was classic; if made for a hell of a lot of replay value. I don't know why they didn't carry that into any of the other games. Too bad.

Ravenholm level in half life 2 is an EXCELLENT level, its full with the headcrab zombies and the variations of them, setting them on fire is creepy too when they start screaming at you.

The RE Remake WAS pretty freaky! If they had DOTD04 a video game, I bet you THAT would be the scariest!!!

Silent Hill 1 scared the shit out of me. Espeically the part where you're in the bathroom and everything looks all rusty. and then those little dead babies were freaky.

A part that got me was when I was in a air duct or something and a skeleton shot out.. and a voice laughed.. bastard.

I think an air gun would just make the crazies more pissed at you:lol:

I think one of the scariest would have to be Zombie Panic, the HL1 mod. There's nothing like running for your life while being chased by a dozen zombies, then finally being cornered and brutally killed. And then when you're a zombie yourself, it's so much fun to chase people down as they try to escape.

I know its not a zombie game but Fatal FrameIII was a type of scary that followed you upstairs and hid under the bed.

I dont know why its scary but it got me so wound up that i had to walk around the house with a knife and a camera.

Silent Hill 4: The Room. WOW! That game was crazy! It was so f*cking scary. I got addicted to it and got all into downloading maps and stuff off of the internet  , I laughed at how much I was into it after I finally finished it. I hope there will one day be a Silent Hill 5. Anyone have any info?
