I've been playing this since it came out. (Actually since a bit before it came out as I helped edit it.) The game is voluntarily rated MA-15 for horror, sex, drugs, violence & adult themes. Personally I think it is a real strength to do so as it allows a freedom for the setting of the game.
The game is set in a world where the Zombienomicon, the famed big bad black book you all know and love, is responsible for all sorts of horror on the world, from the shapeshifting Drac to ye olde traditional zombie hordes.
The game we play is set at Miskatonic University with all of us playing first year students. For some it is a trip down amnesia lane, for others it's a chance to go back and have the uni experience they never had the first time around, for others it's a taste of what is to come.
And because the game doesn't shy away from those things that make a part of the uni experience - the sex the drugs and the rock & roll - the game allows for the perfect backdrop for the horror to start.
ZOMBIENOMICON is supported by a forum (see below) where the game designer & editors regularly contribute. The ZOMBIENOMICON is a featured prop in the feature-film Silence is Golden, a suspense/horror set in the coastal town of Innsmoore where Dagon worship is the normal religion.
