Dead Remains

so i just rented shatter dead from netflix. it was....well it was interesting. It had a budget of...umm... well very little money, and acting was very poor. But for some reason i really liked the whole idea of the movie, it was very original and a cool concept. However my real big complaint was the gross unnecessary sex scenes (gun strap anyone? and also why did they have to have the angel of darkness doing that stuff in the beginning?) anyway... anyone else have any thoughts on the movie?

I thought it was a great concept, but then they dropped the ball on it. Some of the scenes were interesting, but were just done wrong. Overall I thought it sucked ass but would more than likely see it again if it were redone.

I'm in agreement on this one. Interesting concept. Horrid film.

I thought it was interesting. But too slow.

Sorry to reanimate such an old thread, but I was just about to start a thread on "Shatter Dead" and did a search.
I thought "Shatter Dead" was a great twist on the zombe movie genre. Different right from the beginning to, well, the end. Yes it's low to no budget, but it's a helluva story.

didn't really care for this one. maybe a "re-do" with some serious cash could help...

Agreed. This story could really be turned into something fantastic with the right people/financing.

I don't think throwing money at a movie re-make will always make it better. cough** "I Am Legend" **cough. The charm of the independent movie release comes from the story and "Shatter Dead" certainly does have a different story.

i have a dvd copy of Bruno Mattei's 'hell of the living dead' aka 'night of the zombies'. (the anchor bay release) it has an insert in it where Scooter McCrae (director of Shatter Dead) and Michael Gingold (fangoria) crap on about how hell of the living dead is so bad its good. Michael then says and i quote 'Scooter McCrae wrote and directed SHATTER DEAD (1994) which, in my opinion, is a much better film than HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD.' did this bug anybody else or just me. i mean HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD is worlds from SHATTER DEAD. HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD is so bad that it kicks ass. SHATTER DEAD is just plain bad. and i agree what is with the random **** with a gun strapped to it. i felt filthy after watching this grub and not in the cool way after watching porn. hardy ha ha. i agree the loose idea that Scooter came up with was a killer one but as soon as the camera started to role thats when it turned to crud. perhaps some one else should give it a blast or give scooter some decent cash to make the idea proper.

"Prepare to be physically challenged!"
This movie was pretty bad all the way around. All the grubby trailer park tramps, un-shaven beavers, and pistol sex just didn't fit. That and the sub-par acting and poor blood-spraying effects just didn't work.
Like everyone mentioned before, it may have worked with some money to back it up. But... it just didn't and was kind of hard to get through.

I think I need to see this movie simply because "Gun In Vagina" is the first IMDB keyword.

Yeah, it seems most people connect that nasty scene with rememberance of the movie. It sure gave KISS's "Love Gun" a whole new meaning.
