Had to go with Night. That's the one that started it all for me and I still get that jittery feeling every single time I watch it. Also, it had the best anti-Hollywood ending in movie history. You just weren't supposed to do things like that in '68.

I went with the original Dawn as well. It will always hold a special place for me. I caught the theatrical release and it was also my first zombie movie. Also, meeting part of the cast and crew helps. Top it off, it's just a kick ass movie with an incredible score.

The action was pretty fair if you ask me, the part where Miguel's arm was cut of was great! Rhodes being torn apart was amazing. That one guy who had part of his part torn of was great in action and effects, the death of Steel lacked some action but he was a good character and went in a good way, the death of Logan went pretty good and the parts where those people were killed down in the caves were good. I think the action was decent.

I'm focusing on quantity, not quality here... The Zombie action in itself was excellent, but I just felt there wasn't enough of it to fill a 90 minute movie... All the scenes you're describing, occurred in the last half hour of the film... In keeping with the spirt of the thread, I thought Day of the Dead came way short of Dawn of the Dead 78', and several other 'Z' movie favs of mine, for that very reason.

oh, well ya, that does make a diffrence... well I still say Day had more action then movie like Vamires vs. Zombies or good ole Sci-fi's Puppet master vs. Demonic toys which sucked. Day could not compete againt Dawn in action but in the paranoia section its the other way around.

You're right BLADES.... Actually, A100 could've posted up to 10 films on this poll.
If I were to add 4 more films, they would be:
Dead Alive
Shaun of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead
Night of the Living Dead 90' (Remake)
There are one or two more films, that I would add, but you get the idea.

how can Freddy be a zombie. basically he isn't the undead, he is a Dream Demon, not a walking living thing unless he is pulled into the real world. He has all his abilities, he doesn't feed on flesh or brains but eats their souls... however that is similar to what Evil Dead's Deadites would do. so I may be mistaken.

The Night remake was great, the only thing that let it down, in my opinion, was the music. At times it was just too brash and big whereas it should have been slow and menacing. But hey...

Please dont bite my head off, but I cant stand the original Dawn of the Dead's horrible horrible zombie acting.
Wayyy too many scenes of zombies rolling around with people on the floor and just not biting. If youre going to make a movie keep it consistent. Too many zombies standing in one place and pretending to move whlie Flyboy tries to fiddle with his keys vs. later when zombies gang like they're not retarded.
