As promised, Vision, here's the first of the zombie films not on your list.
I thought I would make a thread on it's own for this movie since I don't think many people know about it.
Headhunter was made in 2003 by Adam J. Alleca and Matt Morgan for Alleca/Morgan Productions. It runs in at 33 minutes long.
The preface of the movie states that the world has been overrun with zombies so the government commissioned a special task force known as Headhunters, to wipe out the zombie hordes. Over the span of a decade, the Headhunters managed to almost eradicate the legions of the undead. The last of the zombies are either closely regulated by the government or exist illegally for the purposes of the black market and biological warfare. The Headhunters have been wiped out, all but one.
The movie starts with the one remaining Headhunter in a van with a business man. The business man is in on black market trading on zombies and the Headhunter is trying to get info out of him. He finally gets the information that he needs, but a fair amount of blood is shed in the process. He goes inside a warehouse builing where total chaos and carnage take place. Using a plethora of weapons from guns to swords to chainsaws, you can tell that this Headhunter is out for justice. Lots of zombies and lots of killing.
For a film made with lunch money, I really enjoyed it. Alleca and Morgan were both film students at Boston's Emerson College and you can tell that they put everything they had into this film.
I found out about Headhunter in Rue Morgue #36. It was featured on page 44 in the Indie Terror Fest section. They stated that Headhunter "is an uber-stylized and operatic piece, but it's a technically striking one." They also stated, "Alleca and Morgan obviously spilled their fair share of blood, sweat and tears in putting this mini-epic together and, while it's no work of art, our hats go off to them for that old college try."
I contacted Adam Alleca about purchasing the movie, since I wanted to include it in my zombie movie encyclopedia, and gladly he got me a copy on vhs. As far as I know, they do not have a website or anything. I haven't been in contact with him for a while, but I'm gonna send him an email shortly and see if he is still distributing the film. I'll let you guys know if you're interested.
