So....what do you think will be on the dvd ?

The Blind Dead

Too early to say but I'm sure we can expect commentary from Romero, Baker and possibly Leguizamo. Probably a "making of" featurette. Probably a featurette on the Dead films and Romero. Trailers and stills and previews. You don't have to be Miss Cleo to assume we'll see these though.

Probably some more scenes that we missed and some deleted scenes.

I do believe this will be "unrated" I mean you would have to be stupid if you think George would just stick to an R-rating. I think more than anything he probably do very well in the dvd sales than he does at the box office.

All kinds of stuff... I hope.

I'm hoping there's more gore. The summer issue of Fango featured one grisly photo that wasn't shown in detail in the film; skatepunk's demise. It could just be a production photo or something, but it seems that there was alot more to that scene.

LOL!
They'll probably throw in the usual garbage (cut scenes, commentary, trailers, ect..) I'm waiting to see, on the commentary tracks, whether GAR says that this is his favorite film now in the Dead Trilogy.

If he does, I'll know for sure he's full of bs. :poo:

On the serious side, I do hope the DVD offers, and delivers, alot of cool extras since that's one place where Dawn 04 failed miserably but even with a bunch of deleted scenes, I can't really see that as a saving grace for this movie. The damage is beyond repair. I'm not saying I won't purchase the DVD, but I certainly won't run out to get it on the first day. I'll more than likely wait until I can get a cheap prieviously viewed copy at Blockbuster or something.

you can pretty much bet that there will be an unrated and rated version. It seems that every DVD has the same exclusive content these days. Commentaries, actor interviews, making of this and that, DVD ROM features. I find all of this stuff exciting and it adds to the experience. I look forward to the release even though I have not yet seen the movie. (Don't ask why I've complained about it before.)

...and Andys lost tape they add to the story.
Before I saw Andy's lost tape, I had this image of Andy being this cool and collected guy. After I saw the footage I had a whole new opinion about him and kind of wish I hadn't watched it, although I still kinda-sorta liked it.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/ThumbsupYellow.gif
There was one thing about that Dawn 2004 DVD, that disappointed me though .... There were no trailers in the DVD extras. :x :-(

Some commentary would be nice, but I really want some deleted scenes. Time was my only problem with this movie.

Nicotero said in a i/v the other day he gave 6 hours of footage to be included on the dvd.

I read somewhere GAR said the unrated dvd will be 6 minutes longer. Dont know if thats 100% accurate though.

6 hours of footage? Then that would make it a DVD set I would imagine... 6 minutes added to the movie doesn't seem to too much to ask for. It's cut footage anyway, and GAR probably had a good reason for leaving it out... I would like to see an unrated version of the movie if that were all possible.

If i read things right, the 6 minutes was gore or "gags" that they had to cut out. 100% they are doing a unrated dvd. So, its not stuff GAR wanted out, but stuff he had to put out. Remember, they did alot of "double takes". As in, shooting a scene (say, a zombie attack) and having some one in the foreground partially block it, or maybe digitally darken the scene. Then, they did it again, with all the chewy bits left in.

Whether any more stuff is put in, who can tell.

The footage Nicotero shot (yep, 6 hours!) is alot of FX tests and such. Dont expect 6 hours of stuff to be on a dvd. But, he gave the people involved 6 hours worth of footage for them to trim down to whatever is considered the right amount.

I'm hoping there are at least 2 commentaries. Romero and Nicotero (who did alot of 2nd unit stuff) and another with the cast. Imagine a commentary with Baker, Argento, Joy, Leguizamo & Clarke. Man, that would be cool! Especially if Baker ditches the Yank accent.

But, i bet anything Hopper wont do a commentary.

Don't forget Tom Savini will deffently talk about makeup or something on the DVD as well.

Seeing as how Nicotero did the makeup I really don't see where Savini would have much to say except for commenting on his cameo. Nicotero has paid his dues and deserves to have his time in the sun. I believe someone on one of the threads recently went so far as to say, "Nicotero is the new Savini." Can't say as I disagree but that's not a punch at Savini, it's just that I think even he is wanting to step aside now and let Nicotero take the reigns. Nic is Savini's protege after all.

Well, since the DVD came out yesterday, I'd say we can end the speculation now. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Violence/axe.gif http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/bzn123/Smileys/Characters/1bnz_smiley.gif
