Shock Waves isn't your typical zombie flesh eating movie but it is kinda cool in a way. You've got dead nazi SS troops rising from the ocean and strangeling people in it. Peter Cushing and John Carradine are the big name stars in it.

Alot of people don't like this film too much but I kinda enjoy it. I think that it has a cool storyline and the dead nazi's do look kinda cool in it with there goggles on. I have this dvd and watch it from time to time.

So what do you guys think of Shock Waves?(Like it or Hate it?)

I like it. I've had a VHS copy for years and throw it in from time to time. Does the DVD have any extras on it?

Isn't this the one with the guy from Flipper in it? I think I remember them having to remove the zombie's goggles to kill them. It had some pretty bad acting in it if I remember correctly. Pretty cheesy, but alot better than some of the zombie shit i have seen.http://www.allthingszombie.com/images/jvsmily.gif

Yeah, the guy from Flipper is in it and to kill the zombies you did have to take their goggles off. Peter Cushing was okay in this film but it definitely wasn't his best performance if you know what I mean.

I have an old battered VHS copy of it. I'd like to get a DVD if I ever find one.

The overall look of the zombies is indeed very cool. The visuals of the zombies rising out of the water are awesome as well. I can forgive the "eh" acting...the mere presence of Carradine and Cushing (albeit short) make up for some of it.

On a side note...didn't clips from this film (the zombies slogging through the water) get used in one of the "Meatballs" films? They were watching it in the cafeteria or something, I think.

Hmmm.....I have the first Meatballs on dvd and they don't do that in that film but it could have been in part 2 or 3.

Yeah, it wasn't the first. I'm thinking it might have been the one with the crappy E.T. alien rip-off in it. Maybe.

It was alright. I own it...also bought it at Best Buy. The chick in the movie, the one in the bathing suit was hot, she reminds of this girl i tried to hook up with.

The premise of the zombies in this film is an awesome idea. I'd love to see some one do something similar. The Nazi experiment description in the beginning rocks.

Yeah, I just wished that they would have been flesh eating zombies in it instead of them strangling people with their hands.

So, i bought this movie other day from xploitedcinema.com, because i read on the undeadfilms.com that this movie was really good (got 8 out of 10 on the ranking). After i watched, i realized that this was one of the most boring movies ever.

And i was reading a thread here, about everyone top 10 zombie flicks, and a guy put this one in his list.

What hell? I'm a the only one, or this movie is a real crap one?

I was probably that guy, though I'm not actually a guy. :) I like the movie, and I stand by that. Great zombies. Cheesey. Good stuff. Here's another thread for it: http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453&highlight=shock+waves (http://www.allthingszombie.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453&highlight=shock+waves)

I agree its not much is happening in this movie.

I would definitely not put it in my top 10 Zombie list. Never understood why so many people like this movie. I liked the intro at sea tough.

Yeah, its exactly you!!! :)

Anyway, i think the only cool part in the movie is the nazi zombies getting out of the water in the beggining. But they do this so many times in the movie, that even that get boring!!

shock waves is sweet. when i'm in the mood for a gritty 70's nazi zombie movie with an awesome soundtrack, shock waves never fails to satisfy!

I'd have to say that Shock waves was better than Zombie lake.... but Zombie lake is in a class by itself because of its campy nudity!

I would definitely not put it in my top 10 Zombie list.
Are you serious?
It's not one of the worst Zombie movies, but it's not one of the better ones either... I just have a problem with a Zombie flick, where all you have to do is pull off their Speedo goggles to kill them ... You definitely though need to check out some more Zombie flicks.

It was nice to see something different and unique. I thought it was a pretty cool movie and I loved the shot of them all rising out of the ocean near the rocks. Classic imagery!

One of the little mom and pop video stores has an ancient copy of this for rent. I never knew it was about zombies from the corny cover art and the synopsis on the back doesn't even mention zombies and just has one picture which is a close-up of Peter Cushing (I think that's his name). I had no clue this was a zombie movie up till now. I'll have to give this a rental but the tape is so beat-up though I hope it doesn't crumble to dust when I stick it in the VCR.

Shock Waves was OK. I liked it as a movie (just a casual film, nothing deep) , but as a zombie movie it was merely meh. I prefer classic romero zombies to any other confangled type. But all in all, its an entertaining movie.

I like this film alot, though its far from my favorite.

I think its a more "atmospheric" film from an earlier zombie decade. Although Night was out by then, I think this is just another take on a zombie film. Sure it would have been cool to see zombies eating people and needing to be shot in the head, but that just was not in the plot of the experimental super soldiers.

The ending is cool and creepy although its been done a thousand times since then.
